HOLY SMOKES!!! That's beautiful!

So where are you at with CARB approval? I’m going to have to sit here, and read this enormous thread when I get the chance. I have so many questions.

Yup, snorkel makes a massive difference. I’m torn on adding one to the test mule.
if you add one, have the SS version made, I mean you have gone this far......................

I have been thinking about it 🤔
im sure you HAVE sources but Sloop has a line and its, been done to an USA model 80 i cant justify it because it would be simply for looks, and I dont do looks, your is for business so do it, it will look sick

Originally I was gonna wait til after the testing was done because the plan was to tear apart the intake and everything underneath, but decided to change out the fuel filter afterall since the start was coming out.

Showed my brothers the notching trick so they could understand what was going on and how it saves time the next time you have to change it. My little brother freaking had the fuel filter out in less than ten minutes. WTF?! After notching it he had the filter in in not even five minutes. Man, to be short and have little arms. 🙄

Finally checked off another box on the Test Mule. The AirManifold has been wired and installed. This thing was sitting in my wiring room for about a year because I was going to use it for another project. It never happened so here it goes. The use of AN fittings makes me really happy. Everything looks great and went together nicely. Having a York OBA system with my turbo is bringing a lot of joy.

Wow

Man,... that is looking great.

Same, somehow I had never heard of these things and of course in true IH8MUD fashion...I want them...badly.

One of my only regrets on the Turbo test mule so far was not changing out the motor mounts. I fully inspected them and they were in good shape but not that I’m so far down the rabbit hole I REALLY wish I had changed out the mounts. Why? Because I’m adding another 100hp and 100ft-lb of torque and if the mounts weren’t broken before...well, they soon will be.

The thing that sucks is you want to replace the mounts when you have the engine bay have torn apart. Specifically you want the air cleaner, exhaust manifold heat shields, fan shroud and fan removed so that you can lift the engine up one side at a time using a floor jack and a 4x4. Then it’s pretty dang easy. Lesson learned. Learn from me.

So now I’m stocking them 🙄

I realized something today. Sometimes I don’t want to sit and rebuild crap. Sometimes I just want to replace with a new unit and move on with my day. That was today with the starter. I’ve got too much to do and rebuilding a starter isn’t one of them. So I ordered in a few reman’d starters from Denso.

So I have been looking for a new engine, and then turbo ing it. Just cause my engine is rebuilt new head etc. But if I went turbo I would go all out. Anyone ever heard of AAA engines in Ca? they sell oem rebuilt fze engines all OEM internals etc.

Didn’t know about them. But if you’re gonna push the engine, they’d better do it right. Interested to see what folks say about them...

Dude.... Is this the real RFB? RFB would run the turbo AND the supercharger!
