I was going to wait until I had a prototype in hand but I’ve been getting more and more excited about this. This falls squarely in the “I’m making this for me...oh wait, maybe others might like it” category.

I carry a Gentex mirror block adapter but I never installed one myself because I never really liked the idea of glueing the wedge onto the windshield. Well I wanted to mount the Gentex into my own truck which means the mount needed an upgrade. Here is the render of the near-final piece.

This will bolt right into the Land Cruiser’s mirror spot and still allow to mount the Gentex mirror. This will replace the OEM mirror bracket. This is coming for the 80Series first followed by the 6xSeries.

Oh the other cool thing about this? It’ll have two available mounting holes to add a dashcam, ScanGauge, GoPro, HAM head unit, etc.

This is nearing a final design so will likely be released right along with the rest of the stuff coming ;)

Oh, fawk, that's groovy. I was waiting for something like this...

Interested in this bracket as well. Would really like to add a back up camera system. Autovox, etc make aftermarket style mirrors with integrated screens. Plug in a camera, bada-bing.

How you doin' all this???

dang it you guys who make all this cool stuff!!! how am i supposed to find money and time to work on my 40 when i keep using it all to accessorize my 62!! such a cool idea for dash cam/go pro! ill be watching

What mirror is it designed to fit?

I currently have a clip-on wide-angle cheap thing from ebay and works ok, but I've really wanted to install a Gentex with a rear-view monitor cuz it's hard to see out the back with the tire/can carrier and in small parking lots it can get a little hairy ...

But what was holding me back too, was that gluing onto the windshield. Also, that defeats the DOT safety aspect of the break-away rear-view bracket.

Also, Gentex has some really cool models with outside temp, compass, dash cam, etc...

DO IT, Joey! Sell a 100 to SOR !

:D

Haha SOR doesn’t care about my shenanigans :P

oh yea! Was just researching what wedge/adapter I needed and stumbled across the render in a google image search. Now I will just wait for this!

Apologies for the minor hijack. ..but..
To maximize Gentex mirror features does the rear camera install require a hardwire connection? Mount locstions assesed?
Either way, this product opens up all sorts of possibilities.
