When did you purchase yours originally? Just asking since I have an '11, and ordered in December, hoping I got them with the latest updates on the boxes already (since I Gorilla-taped them together and to the floorboard... 😬)
I ordered mine in May ‘23. Looks like the upgrade video was posted on YouTube by BS in Oct. so I’d think you’re good.

Not sure if anyone's still reading this thread, but I just did most of the Beat Sonic install. I was originally using GX Bob's video as a guide, but I think he has a 14-later model GX as the back of my nav screen has a huge box on it, I had a couple extra bolts on my nav and my wiring was much different. Switched over to the Beat Sonic video, not quite as detailed but I think I figured most of it out. Ran into two problems:
1. My hazard lights are going off now. Tried tightening / disconnecting / reconnecting the battery. Perhaps it just ran low? Not sure how old it is. I ended up locking the car and disconnecting the battery for the night.
2. Although my car recognizes my phone, it cuts out the audio when I plug the phone into the Beat Sonic USB and does NOT bring up a USB tab on the audio page. Therefore, I don't have access to Carplay. When I initially plugged in the phone after install, it brought up a Carplay screen on my phone, but that is the extent of Carplay that I've seen.

Anyone have either issue? TIA.
(Also, if you are planning to install Crawl Control and Multi-Terrain Select, it's a great time to do either if you're taking off the dash).

I don't have beatsonic, but there are two different part numbers they sell. I would double check that you have the correct one for 2010-2013. If you do then I would follow the beatsonic install for the 2010-13 version. The entire headunit is completely different.

I installed on my 15 2 weeks ago. Works like a charm no issues. Make sure you have the 10-13 model.

I didn’t have either of those issues, but found Beat Sonic to be responsive and helpful when I reached out.

I got ahold of them there. It turns out one of the plugs in back of the nav system wasn't fully locked in, and came out - I guess my car thought I was trying to steal the navigation system

Carplay isn't working *perfectly*; volume's low and when going from reverse to drive, I end up on the Settings screen and have to hit the Audio button again to get back to Carplay but I am going to dig around to see if there's solutions already posted.

My memory is hazy, but I think I left the OEM USB plug unconnected to the y cable, and that solved my low volume issue.

Thanks, I will try to figure out which one that one is :)
If you have levinson audio, you also may need to get into the audio settings in the OEM headunit side. Each channel has it's own EQ that you need to adjust to your liking if you went from high everything to normal could be why it sounds quieter.

I don't think I do as it's pretty much a base model. I had ML in my LS430 and I don't remember seeing the ML logo on my GX stereo. Regardless I will check in the AM.

Mini Beatsonic Wirelss review after a weekend of use:

It works! The main annoyance is that in wireless mode, you can't use the OEM USB ports to charge your phone, the sound cuts out as the audio input is set to BT, and doesn't recognize the phone when plugged in. All video works, just no sound goes through factory speakers. So I just switched audio input to USB, and use the device in 'wired mode'. I didn't think you could run audio through the OEM USB and needed to use the Beatsonic provided USB plug, but it works just fine in that setup.
All steering wheel controls work, backup camera, and auto-dimming at night. Your audio still comes through when you switch over to factory screen mode.
I typically always plug my phone in to charge while driving, so this setup works fine for me. I can always use the rear USB charger that I installed earlier to charge my phone if using it wirelessly, or use the USB port provided by Beatsonic.
I’m curious- if you access your iPhone output settings after plugging in, can you change the phone back to Bluetooth to enable again? Or is it not the phone that is causing the signal limit?

Considering a GX (18’-21’) and wanted to know the user experience switching between the climate screen and CarPlay via BeatSonic? Does it cut audio? Jump right back into CarPlay when you hit Aux or do you have to go through another screen first? Realize you can do Auto climate without but I can be persnickety about fan speed at times. Have CarPlay (aftermarket) in my current vehicle and wouldn’t want to take a step back with this experience in the GX. TIA

Not sure about the beat sonic but the GROM unit in my 2010 doesn't cut audio or have issue switching from the audio (carplay) page and climate (or any other factory radio page).

I installed this a little over a year ago, I used the beat-sonic created video for install on my 2013. The biggest issue I have is when I am on a long drive or it is really hot out it tends to freeze up. The music will keep playing but you lose controls and sometimes the only way I realize it froze is the clock on my touch screen stopped some time before. I need to get back in there and check everything out because I'm not sure if it is a stressed connection or just where the module is sitting.
