Mini Beatsonic Wirelss review after a weekend of use:

It works! The main annoyance is that in wireless mode, you can't use the OEM USB ports to charge your phone, the sound cuts out as the audio input is set to BT, and doesn't recognize the phone when plugged in. All video works, just no sound goes through factory speakers. So I just switched audio input to USB, and use the device in 'wired mode'. I didn't think you could run audio through the OEM USB and needed to use the Beatsonic provided USB plug, but it works just fine in that setup.
All steering wheel controls work, backup camera, and auto-dimming at night. Your audio still comes through when you switch over to factory screen mode.
I typically always plug my phone in to charge while driving, so this setup works fine for me. I can always use the rear USB charger that I installed earlier to charge my phone if using it wirelessly, or use the USB port provided by Beatsonic.

Thx, but it was one of the metal tabs I stripped. The screw holds and I don't notice it once the trim was re-installed, so out of sight, out of mind.......

Installed! Install was pretty straightforward. I did have to unplug my AUX IN plug to avoid some interference at high volumes. And I'm totally Android, no iPhone. First car with Android Auto, and it makes the screen SO much better. Are you Android Auto guys always running phone calls through the Beatsonic unit, or still through the car itself? The existing BT audio was SO finicky and frustrating to use, having to come to a complete stop to change players, and only holding 2 players in memory, etc. So far, so good. Steep price, but...

So far on on equivalent CL thread as well these are living up to the hype and most are very satisfied with few reported issues.

I’d get one now but frankly don’t have the time for a few months to install.

I will say the GROM, with the installed updates, works much better. I drove 22 hours last week and didn't experience any interruptions. Using a combination of wired and wireless. Before it used to freeze and disconnect frequently. The only issue on my '13 is the camera interface doesn't populate 100% of the time when switching to reverse. Apparently this is an issue with 10-13 stereos, but don't have time to delve into the wiring, so just leave it as is. Most of the time it works. Haven't heard a bad review of the beatsonic though, just can't justify the extra $750 and possibly just eating the GROM cost when it functions 99% of the time now.

I have done all the updates and have conversed multiple times with their support people and continue to have issues. I gave up on the wireless long ago and if that was the only issue I would be happy as could be. When it works, it’s great. I'd be leery about those android units from China. I didn't have a good experience with one for my previous GX470.

The Beatsonic or GROM is going to be a better route to go.

Update on my Beat Sonic, I started having an issue where my music would freeze and the screen would pop back out to the menu to select CarPlay or AA. Emailed support, Eric sent me files and instructions to update the software. No biggie. Reinstalled, but couldn’t get the last part of the update to work, turns out my ‘12 needed a little different update. Shipped back to Beat Sonic, the boxes will be back to me in a few days. Small headache but the customer service has been stellar. Would recommend Beat Sonic without hesitation.

When did you purchase yours originally? Just asking since I have an '11, and ordered in December, hoping I got them with the latest updates on the boxes already (since I Gorilla-taped them together and to the floorboard... )
