Hi all,

My wipers stopped all of a sudden. I swapped out rusty wiper arms for fresh. Motors sounded fine up until they stopped. Some previous owner installed an aftermarket switch. Still worked…up until they didn’t.

Any advice/recommendations?

Sorry. Should have added that fuse is fine. I even changed out fuses trying to diagnose.
What about the second part?
Do you know you are getting power to the motor?

Ground is next.

no idea on how the PO has it wired
OEM is the ground is controlled by the switch with constant + to the wiper motor.
looking at the 2 wires going to the motor, there is no park function
I don't have the diagram in front of me
4 terminals at the motor
1+
1- park
1- low speed
1- high speed

Same. It’s confusing. I do know that when they worked, there was no park function.

most likely the PO just ran + and - to get low speed and called it good
I just don't know if the PO ran the + or - thru the switch
test light or multi meter will help solve your issue

Yes. Planning to do that today. Thank you

So, PO in his re-wiring efforts, also created a new fuse box for the wipers. When I was under the hood checking current to the wiper motor (none), I looked down and saw the new enclosed fuse box which had wiper fuse, after market lights and stereo.

so... did a new fuse make it work?

Yes, once I saw this hidden fuse box, I saw an indicator light for the blown fuse. Replaced and wipers work. Still only operate at one speed regardless of switch being two speed, but, yes, they are back to baseline operability. Thank you.
