Got to get my windshield replaced. Does anyone have a recommendation for a QUALITY company in San Diego (North County), CA. I have a new gasket, just need someone that will do a proper install with proper sealant.

What ever you do make sure it's an Toyota replacement or you risk a thin glass window and leaks or worse rust at the seal.

I believe mine was replaced with a PGW, which was formerly PPG. They are normally top quality, and I am happy with mine. I think the safelite ones have had issues in our rigs.

You seem to have a grasp on w what needs to be done, but to reiterate, you absolutely need polyurethane adhesive on both sheetmetal/seal and glass/seal surfaces, as per the FSM. Most installers don't do this and even insist it is not needed, but you will end up with leaks if it is not done.

This ^^^^^^^^x10

what is FSM? My windshiled is fine, no cracks...but whoever installed it didn't know what they were doing and its REAL bad looking and I can even see gaps in the seal :( can it be re-installed, or am I looking at an entire new windshield?

FSM=Factory Service Manual

If you look in my signature you will see a link to a thread on how to seal up a windshield that wasn't done properly, I don't know if it will help you if your windshield install is as bad as it sounds though. There is a link to the FSM windshield installation at the bottom of the linked post
