After soaking my windshield hinges in PB for about a week, spraying liberaly every day and heating in the evening I finaly got it to fold. I was impressed at what I found, small rust holes in each corner but none in the middle! ;p

I need to take it off totaly, long story short I ended up drilling the heads off the bolts, thinking that I would be able to get them out later w/vicegrips and heat.... Yea RIGHT, the threaded bars inside look like little lumps of rust. I have a set of stainless hardware already, is there a place to go for the threaded "bars" ? I dont want to call them 'nuts' in the windshild but I can get to them and replace thru the rust holes!

Thanks guys for the tap size. I might have to do that. I have a buddy who is bring a junk frame over that I can take apart and try to get one set of threaded bars out of 2 frames Would welding them to the frame work? It seams like the little strap thing in there is so there is some mis alighnment to get it straight even if the body isnt.

maybe try a left handed drill bit? iv heard they somtimes work...
