Window Trim clips... Two types? (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know if the clips that hold the inner weatherstrip trim (inside the door, alongside the glass) changed at some point.. I am getting conflicting information .. there's a plastic clip and a steel clip. Is it possible that when the model update was done (square double headlights etc) that the clip changed from plastic to steel? two photos below should make it clearer..

I've always thought the older models had steel and the newer models went to plastic

My '84 had steel, my '87 had plastic. The steel really scratches up the door on install, and often rust away. I like the plastic better. I can say the ones from @ChaserFJ60 worked well for me.
