The switch will work without the white guide pin thing. The rocker will feel very loose and will almost always go into auto no matter how careful you go about pushing or pulling it. I had issues with my 01 lx so I just robbed the guide pins out of the rear door switches and put them in the front.

In this case I suspect the crossbar broke off and jammed the rocker mechanism. Stealing a good guide pin from another switch is the only option, agreed.
Good to know that the switch will kinda work without the detent pin. I couldn't test this switch in my 99 LC.

APK, thanks for the excellent info. I disassembled the master switch on my 2000 LX this evening and confirmed no corrosion on the circuit board. Driver window auto and manual work fine; just have issues with all passenger windows. The other switches appear to actuate just fine and push the pins down with similar force as the driver side. Thoughts?

Not sure I understand which switch types were fitted on what year models. Does your switch look like the one in my pics or the one in CEOs pics? They are very different animals. If its the Lexus type with Auto on all four switches I'd suspect a component failure on the module board or a broken PCB track, or even a connector/harness problem. Its highly unlikely that the switch mechanisms failed in all three positions at once as you describe.

Yep, same as CEO's layout. Very robust design for 2000. How can I test for a harness problem?

The 2004 LC FSM has a very rudimentary switch module test procedure specific to the simple LC switch module. The Lexus FSM should have a specific switch test procedure for the more evolved Lexus switch, but I have not seen it so count that as conjecture for now. There may be an Lexus FSM for your 2000 available on the interwebs or even here on Mud. That would be a great thing for you to have so well worth the search.

On it. Hopefully I'll have a copy of the appropriate FSM soon. Read another thread on this issue and someone described the same symptoms (driver window functioning, but non of the others) being caused by a faulty wire in the harness. Definitely worth investigating.

"In my 03 LX factory electrical manual, there's a yellow w/ black striped wire going out of the master power switch. This wire goes to junction J2 (left lower kick panel) and then splits. One part goes to the left rear window switch, the other splits again and goes to the right front window switch and right rear window switch. So if only the driver's window works but none of the others do, there's a bad connection in this wire or the master switch is not outputting the signal correctly. Keep in mind that each window switch has it's own fuse and ground. The only way the master switch communicates to these other switches is via the yellow-black wire. "
That wire sounds like a prime suspect in your case. Go get it!

Another question. Double checked all window switches and the rear passenger switch isn't working. The LED is also not lighting up. This is probably an indication that the switch is not receiving power, correct?

Perhaps. Ground should be brown, but confirm this with a multi-tester, ohms to ground.
Also perhaps the lack of function or LED suggests a power problem. You had said previously that each switch has its own fuse. If that's right then check the fuse for that switch. Even if the fuse is blown there should be 12v on the supply side of the fuse.

Thanks APK. I'm not sure if the 02- had the separate fuse for each, but I know the 03+ did. Haven't been able to track down an FSM for the 2000 LX470 yet.
Had a eureka moment a few minutes ago. AFAIK, the rear switches are identical. The driver rear works fine. I can remove that switch and test the passenger rear switch on that known-to-be functional wiring. I'll post up results tomorrow.

For others, the rear switches on the LX *are* identical. I am now confident that my issues are due to wiring. TG. These panels are crazy expensive.
'03 LC. Driver's window non-functional and passenger front window works only from master (driver's) switch but not its own door. Driver's window button blinks constantly, all others solidly lit. Brand new (aftermarket) switch panel. Fuses checked and good.
I tried some things in these repair threads to no avail so took it to my (non-dealership) shop of many years. They found no power to the green and yellow (up/down they thought) wires on the plug that connects to the switch. Pulled the kick panel but had no room to move the boot between door and body out of the way to check for breaks inside the boot. One mechanic who's a Lexus guy thinks there might be some link between the driver's window not working from the master, and the passenger window not working from its switch.
Is there a trick to getting the boot moved besides surgery on it? I have read the threads, but couldn't seem to get anywhere and stopped short of cutting it open. Seems like once you cut it open you'll pretty much have to rewire the whole thing to get a new on one. Any other potential culprits for the problem? What should we do next?
