Hello All,
It has been a while since I visited this site, its nice to check it out again. I have a quick question.......
Does anyone know the routing for the hose that comes from the washer fluid resevoir through into the cab of the vehicle than into the window frame??? I can t quite figure it out...the pump works and the fluid comes out of the hose when it is turned on...I just dont know how to get it into the window frame???? I have a 82 BJ 41 right hand drive...but everything is the same from any of the 40 series with left hand drive. Any thoughts????

Thanks Rick

If you lay your windshield down, you should find a steel tube running up one side of the windshield frame (I'm assuming the right side, but I'm not sure about your vehicle specifically). The steel tubes rust up.

Typical solution is to blow a string through the leg of the windshield up to the center opening and use the string to pull in a replacement plastic hose.

HTH.

I used 1/4" irrigation tubing and fished it through the frame removing the rubber cap that covers the sprayer outlet. The tubing is ridgid enough to push and bend around the corner of the frame and down to the side of the glove box. I then took the remaing length of silicon tubing I had run from the pump and attached it to the irrigation line and pulled it up the inside track of the frame to the sprayer outlet. It was a very easy task and has worked without issues for close to 10 years.

thru the cab?? windshield frame?? my little sprayer
thing jst sprays out of the bonnet??? nothin goin
thru the windscreen frame. and i think its got
the original bonnet and there was no piping
in the windcreen frame im confussed haha:doh:

In the US, at least, early models had the spray nozzle on the hood and later models had the spray nozzle centered in the top of the windshield frame. The problem with the later configuration is that the steel tube through the windshield eventually rusts solid.

The windshield-mounted spray nozzle may have been a North American feature. I don't know where else in the world the change may have been made.
