Hi all,

X 2 what Red Wagon wrote!

Add water weight or mud and resistance from pulling through goo and it adds up even more. Especially in IFS rigs and no skid plate. Even axles act like a plow when it's deep muck.

Another thing on topic I'd like to chime in on is that I own a Smitty Built XRC8 pro and killed it in a year and a half.

Even if I get it replaced I will sell it and look for something better.

It failed at the top of pulling me out of this. If it had failed earlier I could have been in some s***.

This could have been me.

I had to back down off big ledges. It was freaky.

Buy a good winch.

I bought a Warn M12K for my 80 in 1999. I am on my second solenoid pack, have gone through 2 wire ropes, and am about to purchase my second synthetic line. It gets used fairly regularly.

Like any mechanical piece of equipment it needs periodic maintenance. I tear it down every few years, clean and lubricate everything.

It's saved my bacon more than once. I wouldn't consider another brand.

Get a albright solenoid much better.

No issues with motor 2.4hp or 4?
