You are doing an amazing build. Every time I resist the urge to buy an LV---I come across someone building something like this blue beauty. Keep up the great work and can't wait to see the photos in the sun. :bounce: An LV may have to follow me home yet.

where to begin.
1. I was gonig to reply last night but figured I would wait in that I did not want to jinx how today went. well it didn't matter cause we still didn't get it out tf the garage but its so much closer.

fox came over and we avoided the wiring and fixed a bunch of other things. like the transfer case not stayin giengaged due to the shifter hitting the cover. we put the rear und up on jack stands and went through the gears. so I actually know that it is guna move.

next we started on the brakes.or should I say my brake fluid sprinkelr system. there are so many types of ends and fittings it seemed I choose the wrong one at every juncture. so we worked our way from the MC to the front axle. I got a laundry list of things and fittings to get but i can see the light at the end of the brakes tunnel.

once the brakes are working then she will get backed out. my garage is at the top of a hill and my driveway garge set up is rather tight so i would not want to move it out with out brakes..........we'll see

on a side note i found some cool settings on my camera for low light no light now flash no flash with low light. so those pics are coming out better but i still will wait for day light pics

still not out of the garage yet but had a very productive day today. plus i got a new camera issued to me from work and this one seems to be in touch with me. while the pics are not great esp. the ones with the lights on they show what they neeed too.

fj25 Jim came over today and worked his majic on the electrical system. headlights hazard paking and turn signals all work now only one issue with the Hazard and brake lights in that we wired in a 3 to 2 tail light unicersal converter. so that the brake and turn signal lights can share the same buld. anyway it wored except for when using the hazards.
as Jim siad if I did not want brake lights it would work fine . any way the thought being that the converter is not of a high enough quality to handle the harzards ( it works for the left and right turn signal just not the hazards. anyway anyone with an lv have this issue and what converter did ou use?

otherwise once that is in its just the wipers and heater to go for the wiring. I still hae a brake line that I have been battleing a loonnnnng time now. and then its road time we'll see, it is very cool with the lights thought i espcially like the dash blinkers.

pics above ar eof Jim assessing the bleak wiring situation, then of he wiring mess and last of Jim rewriting the wirng diagram I have taped to the window.

the 3 below are of first the headlights and running lights, then I got one of the flasher flashing ( looks so cool in person :) and last i just took in the dark of the tail lights. I though of setting up a lawn shair and just stairing at them all night, man cat eyes are cool

and a HUGE big thanks to Jim!!! people like Jim are the reason I got into cruisers

Hey. I'm not taking credit for that rat's nest. :p

To clarify, Wilma has all the switches for a '78 wired through an EZ Harness to the original lights. So Jason needs to convert the separate amber turn signal circuit and brake circuit from the '78 to a combined turn / stop circuit of the LV. We tried a cheapo tail light converter found in my tool box, but apparently it's no good. :bang:

Jason, think Cruiser karma. Got home to find the septic tank backed up into the downstairs shower. Working on the LV was a good thing............if I were home earlier I'd be covered in crap right now. :D

I'm trying to remember how i wired up the trailer lights kit i used for my dad. He had a 2 in one out... and instead of using a fancy kit we just used some spare electronic bits i had.

So, you want the turn signal to override the brake lights, BUT the brake lights need to override the Hazzards...

Since i do not know much about the wiring, is there a seperate wire from the hazards to the blinker relay? are you converting the brake/turn at the firewall or back at the lights?

It is happenning at the firewall, but it's same as doing it at the rear. Just interrupting the two wires going to the back.

The EZ harness has a built in flasher for the turn and one for the hazards. Mr T used a single flasher for both. We had it wired and working (with brake and turn separately) we added the converter and only the hazards stopped working in the rear. with the I'll try to post up a sketch later.

Mike Jim went home with the wiper swtich to see if he could get a head start on figureing it out. so yeah if you could :) I just ordered one of these
Cargo Trailer Sales Online Store
see if that one will do the trick.

in other news i went to the DMV today and was able to finally register my lv Wilma has plates and is legal!!! was able to fill out enought forms to kill a forest and get it through different loop holes for this and that that only a state as small as Rhode Island could possible have , brought a sick 4 year old and went early in the morning. but made it out with plates...

well yeah there was really not much left of the orignal harness I have some wires but nothingg that I want to trust and nothing worth saving thats for sure.
thanks for the wiring diagrams I just printed them out
