I actually taped the edging so the inch up to the edge will be clear and bare metal. will have to get udr there and just shot the seems once it is all welded in and seem sealed but to me that will be much easier than shooting the whole thing on your back and having it drip down on you:)

I choose to just go with the black in that I like how it looks beter than body color. just a personal thing and it saves me from messin up the body color paint mixture thing:)

I like the SEM stuff alot I hav eused it on everything its alittle harder than rhino lining but does not take your skin off like durabek.

i don't think I will have a lift for a long time if ever might force me to head out and use yours:)

how much do you pay for that SEM? how many gallons do you think you have used in total?

Ya I think you are correct, this seems easier than spraying the whole thing on your back...

this is the web site I have saved but I forget where I ordered it from
http://www.sem.ws/product.php?product_id=151 I just used one gallon kit and that so far has done everything on the lv including fenders, plus the inside of my CDN M101 trailer so I would definately thing a gallon would do your tub inside and out

almost there

well the last 2 days have seen alot of progress on the lv
I started tearing what was lef tof my old floor pan out yesterday afernoon. I started taking pics after I got most of what was left out which was pretty straight forward. I used a panel seperater on my air chiesel gun? I would start the seam with a cut from my grinder or saw zaw if I could not get a good bit with the panel seperater. and this work for the supports on each side and eventually all I had left was the opera shelf int he back.
but the opera shelf took me most of the day to get out. I had to cut the top seam with a saw zaw across then used the grinder to level out the top. this portion is also attached about half way up to an angle iron so once I got enough off by various cuts I was able to get the panel seperater in there and slowly pop the spot welds and peel it back like a sardine can until I got the the section tha had another secion of light angle iron type stuff that provides a backing for some bolt holes. then I had to saw zaw this section of so I could continue to pop welds and twist it away.
once I got everything out then came straightenign things out and painting a coat of rust transformer on then priming it all with epoxy primer.
I went to diner and dragged my Dad back to help me some how slide the new floors in. Idealy this would be very easy to do if the body was on a rotiseary, but it is not so it is more difficult. we were able to twist and turn the floors in through the back and havethem in the right area but need to now get them and all the brackets that stick out below the body then raise them up into place. easier said then done. we figured out if we can jak the front of the body up we could make enought room between the frame and body to slide one side under. well we need another 4" in that we raided it up to the rafters and still need some more wiggle room:( so in the morning I am going to pull the front wheels and drop the front axle down on jack stands which should give me the room I need. I hope....
anyway here are some pics he last one is where the floors sit right now. close...

in the previous 3 you can kind of see my sardin can method of rolling back the pieve as I poped the spot welds after I cut off the bottom section.
these last 2 of everything painted up including a nice new coat o chasis black onthe frame tops

thanks guys mike these are really nice floors, have I said that enough yet :D
been at it since early this morning. I had my dad's help last night and I sure could have used an extra set of hands today. my main observation so far is that this would be infinately easier if the body was on a rotisurie. they would be able to slide up pretty easy from the bottom.
but if you are doing it like me by lifting the body up with floor jacks and blocks of wood it takes a bit of finese and alittle more effort. ran into some D'oh type issues like since my truck is on rollers and has its new 4" lift I was only able to jack the body up 6" instead of the 12" or so needed due to the roof hitting the rafters :( so I then had to pull the wheels and stick the truck on jack stands
so once it was up I then had to rig up a slide system to move the body back in that the tranny was still sticking up too high so now I am at the stage where the floors are aboutwhere they should be but still need to slide back about 1 1/2" but I can't do that until I slide the body back the 6" forward to its stock location. clear as mud right?
figured it was a good time to break for lunch/ I am hopin gto have it in the right place by the end of the day...... whill post pics then

sorry I mean tto post some pics yeaterday. nothing special really just of the floors in place and me starting to weld them in. ran out of wire yesterday and by the time I got back to the garage it was late and I was tired. but yesterday I got a fair amount done. I welded the opera shelf up to the rear floorground the wled down added some more and ground it down again, and repeated the process. it is starting to look decent.
the first 2 shots are of the floor in place and the fist series of welds on the opera shelf.

these next 3 are on the close up of the rear corner of the floors and then with some new metal patched in in place of some rust spots and gaps. then a shot of how I left it tonight.
I also did all the underside weling there are tab like brackets (3 to a side) that attach to the rockers which are all welded in. now its just the top stuff and the patch in of metal. the patch in stuff is all along the door sills I had not done anything about it yet in that i wanted to fit it to the floors not the other way around.
welding is slow and its guna take me a while but i am happy with my progress.

you can kinda see I got a fair amount of grinding to do but that is wasier to jump in and do when I have a few spare moments than it is to jump in and weld. oh well it will look purdy soon enough

thanks Randy , Dave
while I have every part necsisary to have the lv at FG I highly doubt the body will be even attached to the frame by then :) I am shooting for next year though

my 5 day wilma spree has come to an end :(. i got alot done and ampretty much where i wanted to be after logging 65 hours in the garage over the last 5 days. I wish I could have got the floors completely in but i am where i figured I would be.
so tonight i wanted to get one door sill close to finished so I finished up the rear passenger door sill. the fist set of 3 pics are of the final weld in's and a couple coats of sandable primer shot and sanded down. I know it would be smarter to do all 4 sills then do the sand and spray thing to all of them at once but I think i will do one at a time so as to start with the least used door and finsih with the drivers side door. well thats the plan anway. . .

I am shooting for next year though

 I've been saying that for a few years now.................. Making great progress Jason, keep pluggin away at it. :)

these nex 2 are were taken a few shots of primer and block sands later. i still see some imperfections that i will go back to later. and the last pic is a good example of what all my door sills look like. i don't think i have posted a pic of the before yet so I figured I would toss it up here. and that will be the next sill anyway.

when I tell friends and family that i jsut took 5 days of to work in my garage they think I am crazy. "why didn't you head out to the bars with the family away" they would ask. "why i got an lv in the garage".....

65 hours is some good time to put in! Looks like its coming together nicely!

Looking great there! Um....yeah, I should probably get some progress done on mine. Everybody's making progress but me! :(

Keep up the effort!
