Does anyone know why there are two landcruiser clubs on here? The other one seems really small and nobody seems to check it out. What is the deal with that?

My understanding is the other club is more formal, have sit down meetings with minutes, and not as active as CSC.

I think the people that are in the CSC dont have the ability to sit down for any length of time in a formal meeting setting. Theyd rather be hanging out in a parking lot and chowing on greasy Sonic food.

Non-conformists? Ner-do-wells? Restless leg syndrome?

Who knows :hillbilly:

Basically what you're telling me is the other club is for nancies right?

2 clubs

On behalf the AZ LCA Hi. Last night we had a club BBQ with over 40 attendies at my house. This may be inactive to your standards. We should probably use the mud forum more often than what we do. We have an internal email system that everyone uses instead. At the time I got involved in the club it seemed more of a west side east side thing and I lived on the west side. We appreciate what you guys do for the Off-road community and hope to contribute more publicly in the future.

So basically its an east side west side thing then? Got it. Answers my question.

East/West, pshaw

Now imagine how the rest of us, who don't live in or near the valley from which all blessings flow (and all tax revenue from the state seems to go) feel.

Can you imagine the Baja Arizona Copper State Cruisers for the south end of the state?

(tongue in cheek, mostly) :)

My understanding is the other club is more formal....

CSC chose not to implement many of the formalities imposed by the TLCA :meh:

the most important distinction though is: AZLCA has Shotts and we don't have to :flipoff2:

FYI no formal meetings at AZLCA either. Meetings are on the trail.. Although you are right about the burden of having Shotts on board. :crybaby: (Luv u John)

be careful - they may have standards...:flipoff2:

Actually, I'm suprised inkpot hasn't weighed in. CSC has at least one regular that is active in both clubs.

Years ago the AzLCA used to have formal meeting upstairs at Scott Toyota. I only remember lots of bickering about whether non-Toyota trucks were welcome on club runs, and even non-LC Toyotas were an issue. Lots of time wasted on club funds, meeting structure (seconding this and that) etc ...

:meh:

The basic idea came from the fact that there was a bunch of us from Az who posted alot on MUD. Many of the early members were former members of the AZLCA and took issues with the way the club used to be run. We wanted to hang out and wheel and figured we might as well be "organized" in some way or another. Basicvally we all agreed that Tshirts and stickers would be cool so we made a club and rolled with it.

We also all agreed after the initial hoopla, that we really didn't want to be organized to the point of choking the club. For CSC it was all about wheeling and telling lies.

From a newbie’s perspective the difference is simple – Try to join CSC and a guy will hit you up for $20.00 for a shirt that is two small and a sticker. Mention the size problem, and after the insults, the same guy hits you up for a few more bucks for a shirt that fits. Try to join AZLCA and they want you to bring a friggin side dish for their BBQ! A side dish? Like I got time to cook.:bang:

CSC had BBQ on the trail :D

;p (said like Charles barkley) "Thats just hurrible..."

Shannon, sorry to tell you they prolly dont admit people who pollute the desert with golf balls :flipoff2:

Bman, thanks for the history, all CSC'r should read our history...just gotta work through the lies :hillbilly:

Nice history there, thanks BMAN. Good for us new-timers to see the roots. :D

I've always seen the AZ LCA as being more behind the scene insider-based, where CSC is more public come-as-you-are. There's plenty of room for both, and then some.

I called the TLCA about 5 years ago when I got my first Cruiser. They informed me that their members have few to no kids. I kept looking.

No kids? So I’d only have to bring a small side dish?
