i just did the same trip again and kept it at 65mph or less and i averaged 20mpg on the dot. i like driving faster, so i may never get it again, but it's good to know it was me and not my truck.

edit: i should also add that i switched from the 33x10.50 bfg mt's to 32x11.50 bfg at's before making this second trip. i'm sure that helped a little too.

over fueling
heavy foot
no boost

turbo and a lighter foot pressure...

Ahhh but Wayne we are still 2f programmed with a foot that is off or full down, we don't know that in between area any more.

I've consistently gotten 17-19 mpg depending on how fast I go (fast or faster). 6,820+ lbs, turbo, 4.11, h55, 1.3:1 Marks gears, on 35's. Any use of bio-d will affect your mileage in a big way, I used a tank with about 25% biod the other day and burned through it just as fast as the old 2f would go through gas.

BTW - turned the fuel up an 1/8th and now have a rocket ship with lower EGT's and just slightly better economy.

This seems contrary to diesel tuning. EGT should rise with more fuel and 1/8th is quite a small adjustment. Are you sure you increased (and not decreased) the fuel setting.
