I have all the seats removed in my 80 and use it the space to carry totes, coolers, etc. I like to have everything strapped down during wheeling.

Has anybody added more cargo anchors to the floor of the 80? Pics of what you did? Which anchors? Since I have the dog near the rear sliding window I lose use of most of the existing 3rd row seat anchors and I'd like to have more options.

This is what I currently have. I remove the 2nd row seat bolts and used longer bolts to serve as an anchor point for the tie-down...

I used these in my 55, worked very well. When I wasn't using them you just pull the tie down ring off and you are left with a smooth bump on the floor, you don't have to worry about snagging anything on or the dog cutting himself etc.

Very nice, thanks for the link! I like that they come with the backing plate already.

Has anybody found some single-mount tie downs that could go in existing bolt holes for the seats? Most I have seen require two mounting holes...

On camp trips with my 80 lb. Labrador I put the dog on top of the cooler and some RM Action Packers (the cooler and Action Packers are the same height), with a square-shaped dog bed on top of the containers, and a webbing cargo barrier between him and the seats. As a result he has enough room be comfortable in the back, the cargo barrier makes it moderately safe for him and us, and I can carry a moderate amount of stuff under him.

The tie-downs you bought should work fine. The tie-downs Scottryana suggested are trick.

Cheers, Jon

I picked up some anchors at TSC that were similar to these:

I was just using them to provide tie-down points for a child seat in the second row. I put some epoxy on the bottom of the flanges and then secured them to the floor with #12 self-drilling screws. I cut x-shaped slits in the carpet so that I could flip them up to use them, or cover them when not in use.

Since I never use them, I permanently took out my 3rd row seats and cut the belts. That gave me 4 additional anchors, plus the stock seat anchors.

Ok just ordered a few of these in the meantime to add on all the extra bolt holes around the floor. 5 pack for $6.50!

Quick update on these anchors. They worked perfectly using existing bolts for the 2nd row seats!
