Wow, there are some deals there if someone is going to do their Timing Belt et. all service anytime soon. It would be cheaper to buy these parts than to buy the Aisin kit plus you can get all the hoses and stuff that the kit does not include but that are recommended.

Fortunately/unfortunately I just did all this less than 1k miles ago... That's life I guess.

Thank you for sharing the information. All these parts are garbage except the oil and gas filler caps. I have bad experience with them. When they are out on a part, they send something that will fit but a different manufacturer. Buy oem, denso or Aisin and call it done!

Yup...i don’t go messing around with rockauto unless I can’t find OEM

Did you ever try to call rock auto??? You cant.
I did, at least once that I can remember.

I bought a lot from them. Never had a problem. I usually pick a part with known brand name and stay away from tehir "economy" section.

they're fine. you need to know what you're buying. You can't be a dork and just order any old wheel bearing or brake line. I've used them for 20 years. They have a good core return and credit policy.

their website is TERRIBLE, I cant believe they use the first webpage software invented in 1993

and toyota NA is s*** also. it doesn't matter so much, we just want the right part and the easiest path to buy it. Everyone is on a different curve of effort to purchase.

Sometimes efficiency and consistency in design is more important than consumer grade interfaces

I am not surprised the 100 series forum is so snobby about rock auto

What about tie rod ends?

I was wondering that myself. My Toyota dealer quoted me about $1000.00 for tie rod ends, and another $600.00 to install them, and Rock Auto shows them around $22.00 each.
That's one HECK of a price difference

That must be with the steering rack for those prices.

They didn't say anything about the steering rack. I took it in for a lube job and they told me my tie rod ends were worn and that's what they quoted me to change them.... Along with $400.00 for valve cover gaskets.

I tried Rockauto once. Sent me a flywheel that didn't fit, even with the correct PN. Car was up on a lift and I had to run to a dealership and get one, then return that heavyass thing. That was the only time I tried rockauto.

I refuse to use them again for LX470 parts. I had a horrible experience with a steering rack a few months back. Had to "chat" with them to get to the bottom of it, very annoying!! They sent me a rack and two days after install it failed! Fun to have to pay your guy for two installs, eh?!
