We had a J**P gaggoner when I was in High School. POS!!! Broke every week.
My first car was a 82 Tercel. Traded it in for an 89 P/U. Traded that for a Tacoma. Added FJ 40, then FZJ 80, then FJ 60.

Living in Michigan, I caught a lot of crap. I just explained that their GM or Ford is better than it used to be thanks to Toyota!

Bought the 80 because I had a 40, 55, and a 60 and wanted a little more coosh when I went wheeling. Got the truck and immediately got sucked into work and family such that I haven't seen a real trail in almost a year.

My better half keep on getting on me to get a bigger vehicle to haul her and my daughter around (me I needed something to fit my 9'3" surfboard into), being a Toyota head my options were a 4 runner or Land Cruiser. After checking prices and options it was a no brainer with the land cruiser. It took about 4 months to find what I was looking for, white 91' 62k all service records, seemed like it had enough POWA! for me after having a 85' 4x4 toy pickup (22r motor) for 16 years! I remember when I first picked up my 85' truck from the dealer he asked me if I was sure that I wanted the truck instead of this nice Land Cruiser next to it on the lot I told him no way could I afford it at twwice the cost of the truck (7,500 vs. 15k for land cruiser).

Worked 11 years for a large police department as an officer in So. Cal. Training officer, swat team member all the other fun stuff. Left that in Sept. 2002 to work for a large private security contractor (Blackwater USA in NC). They sent me to Irag, it was alright I was assigned to Paul Bremmer's personal security detail (I have a ton of photos and it paid GREAT ). I've been home since June and enjoying my time off before I return to some other part of the world.

I've owned 40's since I was 16, bought my first one from my cousin in Laguan Beach, CA. I've had six over the years and just recelty bought the nicest one I've ever had (could afford it now) Great thing is my wife is afraid of driving it so I never have to worry about it being gone.

Iraq was a Landcruiser paradise, they were everywhere, from being owned by local to military owned that were incredibly equipt.

I worked as a mobile electronics tech/Manager for a big retailer for years. I worked on one of the VP's personal vehicles (FJ80) and had to have one.

Took several years, had mine over 4 now, and vowed to never own anything else as my daily driver. Safe, Solid, Goes anywhere, and doesn't break.

My Tahoe, Suburban, Avalanche driving friends, just don't get it.............

Research and Development at Bullfrog International...design hot tubs and the equipment that makes them.
I ran a Scented Candle company for several years, nothing like walking into Autozone smelling like flowers--real manly. Always got the comment--"what smells so good".
I drive a 2000 Jetta TDI at 45+mpg because I can't afford my other two cruisers. Nothing like 600+ miles on a tank.

Live in Colorado - just two short hours from Slee. YES!

Married with 5 yr old twins and a lab doggy who all love to go camping and four wheeling in the LC to watch dad ply his fly rod on pristine waters. Actally, the kids (and wife) don't care for the fishing part.

EE Degree. Never used it since my employ with the DOD. Go figure!

How it got started: I visited/vacationed at my uncle's ranch in the summer of 95 to see out in front of his cabin a mint green LC with knee high weeds all around it. What was odd about this LC was the truck bed behind the cab. I had never seen an LC with a truck bed before. When I got back home, I became curious about the rig, did research, which led me to purchase my 95 in Jan 04. But who really cares about a 95 in the context of an orginal long bed FJ-45 that still runs (I started it up while I was there).

And so you now ask "what became of the 67 FJ-45 on your uncle's ranch?" He soon died after my 95 visit and his grandchildren, whom have inheritied the ranch, wish to leave it there, to be forever part of the landscape and, obviously, a reminder of thier grandfather, who was the orginal owner. Yeah, it kills me to even talk about it.

I've thought about driving out there one night with a car trailer, hauling away with it, in order to revive this rare classic to its former dignified state, but prison doesn't sound like a good place to four wheel. In the meantime, I will continue to plead to my cousins' better senses to let go of this beauty.

Also own a 96 T100 and an 02 Seqouia (okay, the bank still owns the Sequoia)

My turn - 44.9 Montana native living in Boise, Idaho. I am a mechanical engineer licensed in two states. I spent 10 years designing flight controls for Boeing, and have spent the last 5 years designing railroad locomotives (talk about horsepower and sluggish response!!!). I also worked in gold mining, construction, nuclear power, etc, etc, etc.

I have a wife and two kids, one cat, one dog. I like hunting and shooting, woodworking and metal working.

I have an absolute loathing to pay anyone to work on one of my rigs - hence sites like this are awesome.

One of my other vehicles is one of the few that gets worse mileage than a LX450 - a '98 V-10 Dodge 3/4 4X4, but man that thing will tow.........

First love was a FJ40 or Cheryl Tiegs, can't remember. Tried the J**p thing. Poor substitute. Saw LC's everywhere: Asia, Africa, S. America, in all the inhospitable places.
Drove everything from J**ps (civilian and military), HMMWV's, to the Detroit brands. LC's beat 'em all. The SAS don't know what they are missing with their LR's.

Loving wife (looks like Cheryl Tiegs, then not now) has consented to a new addition: '97 LX450 with factory locks, to add to my '85 FJ60. She's a keeper (the wife and the truck)!

Both my boys love the trucks! Can you say future cruiser heads?

You don't mean 'used boat parts' do you? I lived in Ventura aboard my boat for years. The Cruiser is my surfboard hauler to c-street as a replcaement for my 88 Toyota 4x4 (stolen)...

Now in Marina Del Rey, boats sold, no garage, royal PITA to get the board downstairs and a lot more crowded in the water....bored as can possibly be....

Traded in my 4Runner after spotting a sweet '96 LC on the lot of a sleepy Toyota Dealer in Litchfield, CT on Monday morning, drove it home Friday afternoon. Always liked LC's and all that they can do. Soon to be pulling my new boat. Recently dis-engaged, now single and dating. 3 yr old Chocolate Lab in the wayback - WOOF sticker on the window.
