I put a split transfer case in my 65 FJ45, I'm using the rear drive shaft out of an FJ60 for the conversion. I had to change the input flange on the rear Diff to fit the drive shaft, which works fine , but the flange on the transfer case will not take the front flange on the driveshaft. Is there a difference in the bolt pattern on the output flanges on different years of the split case? I need to find one that will work or a different output flange for the transfer case. Hope this is not too confusing. BTW I tried all of the later drive shaft parts I had, no luck. Cheers, Larry

Measure your driveshaft flange bolt pattern and give Cruiser Outfitters a call. Don't forget to order a new stake nut and maybe an output seal.

After 4/85 the output flanges changed. I don't know if their bolt holes are the same or if a pre-4/85 driveshaft will bolt to a later flange.

Cheapest fix would be to drill the one you have to match the flange, press out the studs and move them. Or, you can buy the one you need and swap it in. I recall reading it's possible for certain years to swap the u-joint flange on the drive shaf itself.

Thanks guys, I think I'll replace the rear output flange and that should do it, cheers, Larry

I have a pair of late FJ60 tcase flanges. I didn’t realize they wouldn’t fit my early tcase before I cleaned and painted them. Mating services are flat & true. You can have them for $30 shipped. PM for pics or if you’re interested.
