Guys,

Reality is setting in..... I need new paint. Question though is whether to stick with Champagne or to change it up and go with 80 series Sage Green or 40 series Olive Brown. What do you think....

Do you and Cruiser spend more time in woods or parking lots? Do you want to blend in with or stand out from your surroundings?

This is am important question and should be considered within the proper framework. (gee, I sound like I work for the U.N.)

Please provide more info for a thoughtful response.

Stick with the factory color. And green is bad luck...at least bad luck for the cars that I have known.

sticking with stock color means not having to paint all the interior sides and interior panels will match

Agree W/Nuke

I changed the color of my FJ60 from sand to drk green. Didn't pay the extra to get all the door jams under hood etc. Wish I would have just kept it the original color. Painting a truck this big is costly in paint alone - adding additional time/detail for a good color change puts the cost over what should be put into a truck if you ask me.

Good luck, Gordo

White is my favorite.

I repainted mine white but he hood in mat black to reduce glare. White is easy to spot when returning from a hike, a hunt, or burying that annoying guy from the IRS who keeps dropping by the house.

A repaint with a different color of metallic paint will be more expensive *and* harder to get right. If you're going to change the color radically, stick to simple colors that don't show imperfections much.

I've changed the color on my FJ62 twice, went from light grey (metallic) to Code 012 White in 1999 and then to Conniston Green in 2005. Both were no-frills paint jobs for a wheeling wagon:

Sigh! I'm working on it, I'm actually signed up for the next RSM job based out of Phoenix, but I'm probably on a 2-yr plan. Also looking at Denver and Salt Lake....I miss the desert, and the mountains, and wide-open wheeling that's actually *close*....

olive gets my vote
