Brain fart moment. Replacing rear brakes on 72 FJ55 and was surprised to note max diameter noted on drum as 292 mm. Attached a photo of my chassis manual. How do y'all interpret this. FJ55 should be 292 or 297. What about Fire truck? That wording confuses me. What should be spec for non-Fire truck? I always thought FJ40 and FJ 55 drums were same. I've not noticed drums at 292 max. Where do I source these?

Thanks

SOR doesn't seem to differentiate between any semi-floating axle from 1963 - 1980 and the attached photo for their listing indicates 292mm. So what does above manual mean--- FJ 55 is 297 but only if Fire truck and 292 if not Fire truck? I just never studied that piece of the manual before. Thanks.

what year is your manual from? There are larger Non-US drums on 75-up 40/45/55 etc. they are only a little bit larger diameter (I haven't measured how much exactly) but use a much wider brake shoe

My manual is for a 1976. All the vendors I shop indicate the same drum for FJ40/FJ55 so I assumed they were all the same. I still don't understand the wording in the manual. On to sourcing the the 292 mm drums. Thank everyone for help.

I put someone's fire truck VIN into ToyoDIY a couple months back and it took the VIN, recognized it as a fire truck and I assume showed the appropriate parts diagrams. YMMV

Looks like J Mack has you sorted regardless.

Duh! Why didn't the manual just say that! Thank you.
