Suh dude, in the same boat but my head is cracked. If I find anything and visa versa let me know. I’m in the SoCal area.Got a call from the machine shop and the head is warped .045" Is there a preferred dealer on the forum (or vendor) to get the best price for a new head? Looking at part number 11101-69107.
Thanks.
I've checked Olathe, hoping there's a vendor that can beat them.Any Toyota dealer can get you a new cylinder head
Search online for the discounts
A couple well known dealers with online sales:
Olathe Toyota
Ourismen Toyota of Richmond (used to be McGeorge Toyota)
Current discounted prices run ~ $1500 then add shipping/taxes (some may have free shipping for purchases over $200, some may or may not add taxes)
It pays to shop around.
No kidding, that's why I posted the Toyota P/NTOYOTA. The company that manufactured your truck.![]()
It was obviously over heated, #3 cylinder had a significant amount of erosion in the combustion chamber. I knew it had a blown head gasket when I bought it, so it was a gamble on my part. How are these guys determining your heads warped? I have had over 10 rebuilt by my machine shop and never ran into a warped head? I have heads that had excessive electrolysis and could not be saved. Also when ordering a new head that does not come with valves, springs, cams and so on. It will take some effort to get your valve clearance with a new head and old parts.
when I started it up, water poured out of the exhaustI've seen plenty warped up to .007 or so no big deal to mill but .045 is wild i can't believe it ran at all.
may have a wapred block too if it was that bad, make sure you check to see if its flat enough. and check for melted pistons, scored walls. must of been HOTwhen I started it up, water poured out of the exhaust
Machine shop said block was fine (thankfully) I was expecting some issues with #3 cylindermay have a wapred block too if it was that bad, make sure you check to see if its flat enough. and check for melted pistons, scored walls. must of been HOT
