Where does your oil pressure needle sit (1 Viewer)

Just curious to compare. With engine off, my oil pressure needle sits far below the lowest tick mark. Is this normal?

Where does yours sit?

I was thinking that it should sit exactly at the lowest tick mark.

2003 HDJ100. And it doesn't sit much higher with the engine running!!!! (but I've checked it with a calibrated external gauge and all well within spec)

Thankyou. Mine (2002 1HD) sits just like yours with engine off, and nearly at the second tick on idle when warm. I hear some sit at midpoint when warm.

The gauges are notorious for reading low on the scale. Mine never gets above half way but checking with an external gauge shows pressures are within the top 15% of specification, hot or cold.

Mine was the same. During my last oil change, I replaced the oil pressure switch, and it now reads right at the mid-point when driving. Makes me feel a bit better seeing the gauge read correctly.
