where do i get these....OEM? Help

I have seen these roof steps on many land cruisers here in Iraq. They seem to be OEM. I tried to get them from a toyota guy with the help of an interpreter. The guy said they came on imports from the united arab emerates. I know I must have them. Anybody know where to get them? Thanks

I knew you guys were good.... But that was fast. Thanks. I am still going to try and get a sub tank from some of the Iraqis while Im here.
 
the numbers are from Gen not JP or US...I dont think they are in usa sys or Jp sys
 
They're actually listed twice. Once as 'sub-assy' and once as 'ornament'. Is the sub-assy the interior reinforcement and the ornament the actual step?

I was very tempted to take them off an 80 when it came through one of my checkpoints at gun point. LOL( not really that wouldnt be nice) I am still going to try and get them used. The parts guys I talked to were in a very dangerous part of town. I have a different mission now so I will have to use a middle man. But I want them!!! I will let you know how it goes.
 
Mot or Dave Stedman (Japan4X4) should still be able to get these if they are still available.
 
I actually was told by Toyota that I could not get a part that was intended for another market yesterday unless I could prove to them that the vehicle which I was trying to get the part for was being registered in Japan. :rolleyes:

I was going to call them today to ask questions on prices and availabilities on other parts today.
I'll try to give them a ring when they open in a little while and report back.

Even if I can't get them, Dave might have some strings that he might be able to pull.

Don't hold your breath (I'm not an optimist, can you tell? ;)), but stand by!

I'd be very curious about the internal support as well. I don't think two sheetmetal screws into the body will hold the weight, so I suspect there is something that's supposed to go on the inside.

noice! but okay, if we can get them, to install, drill holes? or are there reciprocating predrilled holes from the inside panels? that'd be sweet on the left side of my rig (swing out on the right). keepin my fingers crsossed.

or if someone grabbed a set, then just made knockoffs...no?
 
I just remembered that I've inquired of some of those parts a couple of months ago and the cost from Toyota were:

61054-60020: 3,600 yen
61058-60010: 4,000 yen
61068-60010: 4,000 yen
61684-60030: 500 yen
61686-60010: 800 yen
61679-60011: 600 yen

So by the time you get the step and reinforcement(?) each step would be costing you close to $50, plus shipping. And since they would not be plastic, it would not be too cheap to send, either.

I disclosed those prices instead of my skyrocketedly-marked up prices, because I don't think anybody would be crazy enough to actually go after them. :hillbilly:

What I meant was that some of the parts that were not available/meant for the Japanese market cannot be had. But I believe most can be obtained. (Knock on wood!)

hey Mot, thanks for the price update. just wondering, i'm assuming these would be local prices too in japan? say if i were to get my bro to ask his friend who works for toyota? they're small enough to pack away in a box if and when someone wants to fly back..

Yeah, these are not vendor prices, but the retail prices for someone like you(r bro's friend) and me from Toyota.
