Onur's right - we had a good day wheeling in the Puerco today. Here's who made it:
Onur & Robert in his 80
Ron in the 100
Rory & brother Ryan in the 40
Abq Jim in his 4Runner
Jim's buddy Josh & friends in a nice '04 Taco
I was in my 80
We also had three guys in 2 Rubicon Jeeps and a full size Dodge pickup that asked if they could tag along. So it turned out to be a pretty big group after all.
We did the normal tour of the Puerco. There was actually some mud in spots, whcih we don't usually see. I think it must have rained pretty good out there yesterday. It kept the dust down and helped pack the sand for those first steep climbs up the dunes.
As Onur mentioned, he will post a link to Robert's pictures. Ron also got some good video of Onur being wild and crazy. His whole truck was balanced on his transfer case skid plate (I think it's a Slee skidplate). That's a product testimonial. All four wheels in the air and spinning. He needed to get lifted/shoved off so he could proceed to come off a 3 foot ledge. The Slee rear bumper protected the tail end as it came down hard.
All in all, a good day wheeling followed by a late lunch for some of us at the Turtle Mountain Brewery. Can't wait to see the pics!
By the way, I'm out for tomorrow's wheeling. Have a great time!
