I should know this but I don't!

I am looking at putting d60's or 14b rear and d60 front in my FJ62. What is the smallest rim size I can go with? I know they come with 16.5's but those tires are pricey. can I go with 16 or 15? or should I go with 17? I will most likely go with 38's or bigger.

Thanks

Tony

I'm fairly sure you're not going to be able to run 15" rims on 14 bolt, the drum brakes are just too big, although if you have a disk brake 14 bolt, it seems like i have heard of people grinding part of the caliper for clearance. 16" rims will fit no problem.
D60's are getting hard to come by, and even more expensive to buy, If you read crawl magazine, the latest trend seems to be using 14 bolt centersections and adding D60 outers from dedenbear or crane manufacturing. Just a thought, although to me it sounds like it would be a "ditch digger" unless you did a lot of shaving.

H2 wheels are easy and cheep 17"

you can run 15's if you grind, and or possibly downgrade the brakes to the 3/4 ton stuff.

have you found a front axle yet? i think they are still easy to find, just Pricey $800 -$1000 in junkyard shape..

14B Front sounds cool, i think i need to pickup the new Crawl! lol You would want to run 40" + tires with a 14B

no i have not gone to the pull yard yet. If I have to I'll settle for the D44 front and 14B rear until i can find something better for the front. It will be a couple of weeks before I can get down there. I'll let you know when I plan on it and you can join me if you want.

ill let you know if i find one and dont pull it for myself :)

i have not seen one yet and ive been going there for 6 years or so.. unfortunately you have to pay to play with the 1 ton stuff.. :(
