last time i did my wheel bearings they cost 25$ a side at autozone and today at carquest they cost 65$ a side. how much do you pay for your wheel bearings and do spendy ones last longer?

No reason to buy anything but OEM Koyo brand- good price from Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters ~ $40/side.
It's enough of a pain in the ass, that you'd be crazy to go for cheap bearings when good ones are easily available, and not much more expensive.
The Timken brand (or other made in USA/Germany/Japan bearing) from Autozone/Advance Auto or other FLAPS are perfectly fine. Now the made in China Motor City bearings I'm not so sure about.
