Hi--

In several of the pictures Kevin uses to illustrate how his rear panels look installed, you can also see rails attached above the panels and to the floor that look like they're pretty handy for securing cargo.

For example:

Are these a one-off Kevin special or is there a company that makes something like this? They look very handy, I'm constantly messing with ropes to attach heavy things to the cargo fixtures in the floor.

I can't find any reference to them anywhere, though.

There are cargo fixtures in the floor?!

If you contact Kevin, he is pretty good at replying.

Outside of that, you can google cargo rails and find some similar options. You will need to make them work, as they are not stock, at all.

L track, US cargo control.

I think US Cargo usually has the best deals on them. I do remember Costco selling a kit at one time for a good price. I don't think they carry them anymore.

Cool, thanks.

Yeah, there's tie down loops in the floor. Do you have replacement carpet? If a PO installed new carpet and didn't cut slots, that might be why you don't see them. They're handy for things like gas tanks that you don't necessarily want rolling around.

I bought mine from Mac's custom tie-downs. I think Kevin gets his from Mac's.

Ahh thanks. This looks right. I tried searching every combination of words I could think of but didn't hit the magic formula.

L-track. Might help your search. The price has come up a lot in the last couple years.

About to install some L-track in my cruiser as well. Lots of great options for different attachments as well that fit into the track. Its a great solution for securing cargo and what not in the back of your LC.

My truck (Jul. 1984) doesn’t have the cargo fixtures either, you’re not alone! No threaded holes, either.

I think the tie downs are a 62 series item. My 1987 60 doesn’t have them.

A cheaper option than the L track would be to use unistrut. Paint it to match the interior. There are 1000’s of attachments for it - tie downs, anchors, metric threaded inserts....
