I'm a new FJ62 owner so please bear with my lingo. I've read the treads but still can't determine what to do.

I recently installed the OME Light/Medium suspension at the recomendation of one of my friends. The ride is awesome but the rear of the vehcile is jacked up higher than the front.

A friend of mine removed a leaf in the front and rear and as we expected the rear is still higher than the front.

What does everyone recommend....remove another leaf from the rear to balance it out? Does taking out too many leafs take away from the suspension? de-arc? I will not be doing any off-roading with this vehcile.

I have BFG A/T 31.0 x 10.5 on stock rims but they look really small due to the lift. Can I safely run 33.0 x 10.5 on the stock rims and not have clearance problems?

Try putting that front leaf back in and leaving the rear that you took, out.

33x1050 will fit fine.

As it should be like that. Load it up with some camping equipment and it will be level :D

i don't know about the leafs but my truck runs 33 x 9.50s with not problem at all with very little lift at all.......i think i could get away with 33 x 10.50s(which is about as wide as you want to go on a stock rim from what i can remember.

I just put the med/heavy and had the same problem, but I decided to wait for it to settle.

After hauling a load of sod and running it off road with camping supplies in Mexico it has leveled out enough for me.

I just picked up BFG 32/11.5 and they look fantastic. Any larger and I would have had to regear.

Good luck!

I have to agree 32X11.5 are almost perfect.
Not to big to drive and gives you a little lift under the axle
plus a wider foot print in the sand.
Add a mudder tyre to that lot and it is perfect.

I have the MAXXIS Buckshots and I love them

Put your leafs back in and add a leaf to the front thats available through OME, that way the springs have the full support they were designed to have and dont sag prematurely. I ran 33x12.5's and think the fit is perfect, but then again, I dont like pizza cutter tires or the stock rims. My setup is heavy front, med rear, with rear shackles at both ends, which levels the truck on ts own.

33 x 10.5

I just put an OME lift in and run 33 x 10.5 BFG AT's. The tires fit very well. Probably could have gone up a bit more in height, although I think I ould have lost turn radius if I went up in width.

As to the springs, the fast fix is to put the front one back in. The better long term fix is probably to put the both in and get an additional one for the front - or put them both in and get a kick ass rear bumper with spare tire carrier and a spare gas tank. That will level it out :)

The 33 x 10.5 does fit in the spare tire well under the frame, in case you are wondering.

I was wondering, and that helps - thanks. Wondering if anyone ever tried making a spare skidplate (or if it would be needed) so it doesnt get cut up on rocks mounted under there. I'd rather have the weight down low and off the bumper if possible, but if its going to get destroyed, I'd put it on a bumper & mount a water tank underneath to go with the onboard hot shower system

Would be a bit of a challenge to make such a plate for the spare, as the mechanical connection holding it in place is deep in the steel wheel. You would want something you could get off fairly quickly...

Raining in SJ now, but maybe later or tomorrow I will climb under and take a look.

i would put front and rear leafs back in. they brake in after a bit of driving ecspecially in the front with the extra weight. the back may be a little stiff but put 5 passengers and gear in it and you wont be dragging your rear. as far as clearance its fairly simple, since you have the least clearance in the front drive the front end up a ramp or on uneven ground to where you push the 1 front tire up in the wheel well. measure from center of wheel to where the tire would rub, this will give you radius. double that and you have diameter. pretty much every tire you buy will have a slightly smaller diameter than on the sidewall so you can go a little bigger sometimes. if you want to even the front and back you can get or make extended shackles in the front. its actually pretty simple.

i think les schwab makes a 33x9.5x15 in a mud terrain. wildcat i beleive. i've had a few sets and liked them.
