Just curious is anyone knows anything about this.

Last summer when I bought my 200 I almost went to CT to look at this 200. I found one closer.

Every time I brows the ads I still see it listed. Anyone know what's going on with it?

I am going to go with, covered in rust underneath???

Just a guess...

Could also need a lot with those miles if there was maintenance that has been put off:

Front cover leaks
Cam tower leaks
Cracked radiator
Leaking steering rack
Leaking water pump
Frozen KDSS system

These trucks can cost a lot if you let them go.

Worst case would be the list above mechanically speaking with the list above being nothing major, this list would be well over $7,500 in maintenance repairs!

Being a northern truck only complicates matters...

Or just bad luck for the seller...

I almost stopped to see this truck a few weeks ago, but the miles put me off. It has a history of coming from NY (Carfax on their website) so I'm betting there's a lot of rust underneath. I decided I wanted fewer miles and was willing to spend for it.

But to be on the market for nearly a year?!?

Guy must be stubborn on price.

I think there is a clue in the picture of the vin plate above the hood strut attachment. Around the mounting point you can see a rust bubble. If it is rusting there there are probably other rust areas too.

I was thinking you can see rust starting on the bottom of the lower tailgate in that seam as well. Maybe I'm imagining it...

Wow
That truck looks nice!

I just bought it, waiting for delivery as i type this...i did buy sight unseen which is pretty idiotic I know, but based on the service records on carfax it seams to be a well serviced LC. Rust on the other hand,,I guess i'll find at in a couple hours. Unfortunalty it's not all rainbows and unicorns as when I spoke with the delivery driver today after he picked it up, I asked him hows it look/run/engine lights on he replied that it was hard to shift into drive! WTF I thought, of course this is happening to me, I deserve it ! I'm literally in a panic and I think I bought a $25k that needs a $10k new transmission!

my worst fears confirmed. I was able to pull the service records from TOyota (attached).

"FOUND TRANSMISSION LINKAGE IN TRANSMISION UNIT BINDING.- RECOMEND REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION.

Bummer. What is your recourse? Each state has different "lemon laws" to protect consumers from major drive train issues. In AZ it is only 15 days or 500 miles whichever comes first. Seems the seller is a licensed FL dealer so maybe some recourse?

I am going to have a friend take a look at before I go down that route. It seams strange that this issue started 50k miles ago but hasn't effected the actual shift of gears, only the initial engaging into drive/park/reverse etc. Though I purchased as is with no warranty, Ebay does offer protection against such issues. When I contacted the dealer immediatley after receiving the LC he said it must of happened when the delivery truck driver loaded it onto his truck. SMH what a complete A hole..

Dammit, now I really wish I had stopped to take a look at it last month when I was driving through that area.

This is the risk you take with buying with no warranty, especially from a long distance, from a small dealer. I did it, but it worked out well for me. I'm actually still waiting for the title paperwork to put my plates on mine, but they emailed me Friday to say they were on the way.

Good luck, but to me a sticky shifter doesn't mean you need a new tranny.

True - I fact I think there is another thread on here talking about this very issue (especially on a cold start)....
