Closing in on 400K, our 08 series 200 is going to Colorado for the next two years with our daughter to finish her Air Force Academy attendance. Trying to decide on replacement of a few items that have no issue currently, but at some point, will, and really don’t want her to have to deal with a breakdown. Will definitely be replacing serpentine belt, passenger side Hewit bypass sensor/kit, coils, service the diffs and trans ( new at 325K ), new brakes
( including fluid flush ), etc, but considering the following that are original, and at some point, will need servicing/replacement.

Fuel pump complete assembly. Original
Alternator. Original
Power Steering pump & Hoses. Original
Water Pump assembly. New at 100K
Serpentine Belt & tensioner, radiator. Replaced all at 100k.
Timing chain & guides. Original

I believe in not fixing things until they’re broke, but also know things will not last forever.

This vehicle has served us beautifully, as there isn’t anything like it on the planet except maybe a newer 200 ( our 18 GX 460 is close ). No plan on selling it ( or GX ), as it’s become a part of our family, and bought our daughter a pristine Cayenne V8 S with 129K miles, that she wants to keep with us until she graduates, so LC is the best choice for Colorado….

Thoughts?

A good plan.

I don't that I would change anything, based on what you've said.

My rig at 170k is a baby by comparison but I just replaced:

Front hub assemblies and bearings
Rear bearings
Front upper and lower control arms
Rear upper and lower control arms
Front and rear Sway bar links and bushing

And I can’t overstate how new the truck feels in terms of smoothness and driving experience.

Sounds like you are fixing things for no reason. The only thing I’d do on your list is serpentine belt. Fresh fluids throughout and keep going.

Google Waddington Effect

Timing chain will let you know when it needs replacement. No need to do it preventively unless you're already in there for other reason.

As suspected, my thought of not fixing things if they aren’t broken stands tall here. Regarding the suspension component replacement mentioned, our 200 drives beautifully, but other than a short trip into the Smokies where we briefly used 4WD Low, it hasn’t been used off road. I’m betting that’s why it still drives beautifully and hasn’t had any suspension issues.

Can’t imagine the shocks are worth much at almost 400k, and replacing them might be something worth doing, but other than the new trans, nothing major has ever been needed.

It has some oil leaks, but nothing major, so oil changes are still done regularly!

Our 18 GX just turned 100k, and is as new
( even smells new which is amazing ), so we are Toyota/Lexus owners for life now ( other than the Cayenne S and a 911 again someday ….

GX and Cayenne have been garage kept since new, where the 200 has not ( no room ), and there is no comparison …… especially here in Florida where sun is intense at times….

Thanks for the comments… Saved a lot for now!
