Just out of curiosity, What a 25 is worth?

I came across one awhile ago. Was in okay shape.
Not to bad of rust. Still drivable. Had been repainted 10-15 years ago.
It was a 2 door hardtop.

Looked like a good truck for a resto. It was on a 5 acre peice of property. Though about knocking on the door. But a 25 isn't my dream rig, and I didn't have much extra time. Its a few hours from here. I am not sure the owner wanted to part with it. Still looked to be driven at times (and maybe insurared a few years ago). There was not to many pine needles on it, and it was a behind a few other parked vehicles. Perhaps a plow truck or something.

Maybe I could buy it, and trade is for another cruiser?

Cheers,
N.

better not let Phil know where it's at, that's just north of us.

Thats why I never gave specific's. ;)
They are a cool piece of history but there I could use a daily driver first.
More so just interested in what is worth. If I had to guess, I doubt the owner would part with it. Usually the more stuff they got lying around, the less they want to get rig of any of it.

My stock answer is................

Less than an early FJ40 in similar condition. ;)

post some pics...then we can get at least a better idea of what its worth :)

and speculate on mountain ranges in the background, and what species of tree that is over there.... Cross reference with what's a few hours drive from you.... Check google earth and look for your 25.... :D

It could happen.... Hehehe

Sounds good. Now I don't have to feel bad about putting it in a derby. ;)

No problem about a derby as long as you take any really rare 25 parts off first. I would hate to see this parts get destroyed. Besides the more these things go away the more our worth nothing vehicles move up to worth almost nothing:rolleyes:

PS: I'm sure Phil will trade you 40 parts for the 25 parts. Beside you wouldn't stand a change in a derby with a FJ25 four speed tranny:rolleyes:

I'm sure we all still wouldn't mind seeing pics of it... even in it's current stat from the road. ;)

Next time, I head up I will take some pics.
By the looks of it, he still uses it, just not to often.
I will try and chat with him about it.

And just wondering, what is the value for these things? $2500? in the shape I am mentioning. more? less? Just ballpark is fine. I know once I get pics you could give some better estimates.

Shows you how much I know about 25's. I would of thought the the drive train would of been typical toyota tuff.

I don't know. But if I have that old FJ40 much longer it will end up at my cabin with a snow plow on it.

John

40's work good as plow trucks. We got a 71 doing just that at our house.
V bar chanins on all fours. She moves a lot of snow.

Who is this Phil guy?

I'm not sure who he is, but if you see him with a '25 on a trailer, DO NOT open a conversation with him by referring to the '25 as a J**p !!

LOL!

:D

Maybe, dpeneds on the condition. Unfortunately, you need to find a buyer, then figure a price. I don't want to drive down the price or our valuable collectibles too much though. :D
