If you found a completely intact 71 FJ with 48k on the clock and the only rust (which is'nt much on the lower botoms of the rear quaters go figure) what would you do? I'm saying work the bugs out of it, lights, brakes and such and make it a everyday driver.. We have others but none as completely stock as this one..

...totally depends on how much money you got and are willing to spend on it.

First, I'd flip the bezel right side up- then I'd make it safe and drive it everywhere.

I've got to agree with dgangle , it all depends on how much you want to spend and how far you want to go with it. It looks like the twin to mine. Yours looks better as far as the amount of rust. Looks like you've got a good start. Good Luck and enjoy.

Here are the others in the stable

The blue one was bought for a flip, but I the more it sits in the driveway, I think it's just gonna get some new tires (maybe some old military spec tires to go with the survivor theme) and a good douching and drive it as is.. Kinda a suvivor/driver.. It was brought to the states in the early 80's and has been in a private collection ever since, it has only racked up 200 miles since it's border jump.

looks like another ground up resto project!! By the way what do you consider alot of rust?

Living in the rust belt keeps us from finding anything solid.... The Blue on is as solid as anything we have come across in a while.. Surface rust is just a right or passage around here..

Should I do this before I get it off the trailer or after?LOL My brother could'nt wait to flip it, whats with you guys and the bezel's...

Keep the Bezel right where it is! It's just "The Man" trying to keep you down!

Nice find by the way! Do what you want to the Cruiser! A resto-modded cruiser is a nice route to take!

Thank you Phil for acknowledging me as "the Man".:beer::flipoff2:

Great find, Clean it up, fire it up and enjoy it !!!! If you want a show truck by all means break it down, I dont know about you but with a family and job it would take me several years to get it back together. Its your Cruiser , Myself I just drive'em love'em and when they break fix'em. But again its your Cruiser and sounds like your nit new to this game. Have a good one

71

I know what I would do cause I am doing a 71;)

I think it looks like it needs the work to preserve what is good before it gets too bad. Be a shame to see it go downhill but that does not mean anything more than stopping the rust already in progress

Then drive it and sell it on as a worthy build prospect or go all the way with it

Any plans are okay as long as it doesn't sit and rot into the ground

Looks to me like the tan 40 in the back of the third pic needs a bezel flip as well.

nobody noticed the 55 Chevy in thr garage????
