What tools, 300 mile trip to pick up my first LC?

Ditto to all of the above plus bring some micro fiber cloths and
clean the Windows and minimal wipe of the dash. A clean
car drives better than a dirty car :-) You'll enjoy the ride back
home even more. If this is your first 100 and this is a good
vehicle, you are going to be impressed.

I'm into coffee too.
So what are your first impressions of your 100????

Had to grab breakfast of champions...and more coffee.

What are you driving there in?

My biggest concern is who is driving the CJ home!?

Check what fluids you can and top off as necessary. Enjoy the drive, it will be a much different experience on the way back.

Absolutely.
But I fear it's going to a different home. I thought that color looked familiar!
1983 Jeep CJ7 - Expedition Portal
*I still love Jeeps even though I have the 100.
Nice. rust free, clean and the 4.0 head with MPI makes it a completely different vehicle. CJs are skyrocketing in price lately and that one is worth the asking price.

I have a '77 CJ7 with a 304 and a '89 YJ with the 258. Fun toys, but I couldn't DD one

Funny you mention Expediton Portal, because that is my Jeep and ad and also where I first saw the LC. The owner of the LC told me about this forum and that's how I ended up here.

So I drove down and traded the yellow one for the white one

You came out way ahead.

. . . and white is a good color!

Oh, and since you're trading up, here's a link to The 8 Best Driving Gloves.

j/k of course

Nice CJ7.
I came very close to purchasing a brand new Jeep CJ back in the 1970's - $3,800.00
Vehicle prices have risen dramatically.

Thank guys.

After being a loyal and faithful Jeep owner most of my life, this was my 5th CJ TJ or JK, I needed something bigger. Former owner of this LC said he was looking for a YJ project, YJs are a lot like CJs so I sent him a message. We wanted what the other had and that was that.

First impressions, obviously more comfy and roomier than the CJ and feels more solid. I did the 300 miles home with ease. Complications for me, I've never owned something with so many buttons, gadgets, and electronics. Holy shnikes! There is a lot going on in there. I can't really say much about the ride because it had extra wheels and tires included so I drove home with some of the extras on a hitch rack.

I'll do a proper intro and build thread ina few days (most likely when I am back at work) but I'm looking forward to being here and learning about he new rig.

You will learn to love the 100...if that didn't already happen on your drive home. I too came to a 100 from Jeep (still have TJ/MJ) and have been blown away with with the Land Cruiser build quality....that is definitely not smoke and water. Congrats on the trade and be sure to read through the FAQ to get you on your way :)
