Hi

I am not really new to FJ's, I had a 74 FJ40 for 5 years and had to let it go, and now I would like to get back into the Land Cruiser club. I am very much interested in a FJ60 but I know nothing about them, such as what to look for when buying. What are there most common problems if any, and what areas should I pay special attention to. I am familiar with the "F" style six cylinder and anything else similar to the FJ 40 but that is it. Any help and suggestions would be most helpful.

Thank You,:bounce:

rust is the first big problem in my books, both on the body and frame. the more experienced people will know more of the technical stuff though. have fun.

I'd love to read your post, but it's too fawking hard to read. EOM.

sorry about the black font, I cut it form a word doc and that is what happened so here is my question. I would like to find either an fj60 or fj 62 and would like to know what to look for when buying one. Is one better then the other, what would be the pros and cons. At one time I owned a 74 FJ40 and loved it, but had to sell it for something newer, now I would like to get back into the Land Cruiser club and thought an FJ60 or FJ62 would be a good start. can someone tell me the difference between a 60 and a 62 what wears out, what to pay special attention to.

If you can find it: low miles, one-owner with all repair records (usually from an old fart). Then all the rest - no rust, good compression, everything works, no wire hacking. Be prepared to pay a premium, but remember it's hard & expensive to reverse 20+ years of abuse, neglect & rust.

I have a FJ60 now and used to own a FJ62. I didnt like the 62 as i felt it had
too many newer electrical gadgets and they seemed to go bad after a while.
for instance i had power window probs alot. I also didnt like the automatic
transmission either as it was starting to have shifting probs. I feel the FJ60
has more non-electric accessories making it more simple, this is just my
02. worth. Good luck both rigs are good because they are landcruisers
