I am trying to figure out what boot or something I need for this opening under the drivers side fo my 78 pig. Hole is about 3"x5" and maybe on the back side of the engine where the transmission mounts.
I replace the clutch fork boot on the other side recently and it was a similar size opening. I haven't found a refernce to it in the repair manual or SOR.
Suggestions, I am sure there are many who will know this answer.
I attached a pic of the area. You can see the oil that spreads outfrom this area and coats the underside.

Thanks,

Is that on the bell housing? If thats right then there is a little plate that bolts onto/over the hole. You could get it from SOR or one of those places. As for the oil there shouldnt be any there, unless maybe your rear main seal is leaking or your oil pan.

Thanks for the info. I will dig one up.
Thanks, again

Michael,

Check the fluid level in your t-case and tranny.

I am wondering if you are low in the t-case and overfull in the tranny. If so, fluid will come out the shift tower of the tranny and leak all over like in your pic...

If so, let me know. We can replace the seal btwn the t-case and tranny.

TJ,
Thanks for the advice. I will look into it. Right now it is at Lynn's for some welding and getting the new shoulder belts in the back seats.

the clutch is hydrolic and can go on either side. Throughout the years it moved from side to side. The 3 speed guys will have a metal vent covering the hole. 4 speed guys have a rubber plug in there. It does nothing other than keep the big stuff out of the clutch like rocks.
