I am a delighted owner of a 96 LX-450. Its got 122K on the clock and runs like a top. With the exception of a starter rebuild it has been bulletproof, except for the power driver and passenger seats. I really think that Lexus had GM make them. The driver seat moves only toward the dash and the passenger seat only makes a crunchy noise.

Anyone got suggestions? I can't find instructions (or are there even parts) to rebuild the seats. Does that make sense or do I need to just find a junk set and recolor to match the leather?

it's the gearbox at the end of the leadscrews. You can get them from Toyota and if the gear from the motorside is stripped then order the smaller cheaper box on the other side and just swap in the gear.

Be warned that if you want to remove the nut on the end of the lead screw at the gear box, hold that lead screw from turning as just trying to turn off that nut will strip the large internat nylon gear.
