I've got a 82 FJ60 with the usual cancer spots save one. PO must have pushed the pass side rocker in on something. The fix was done with plastic filler ( about 1" of it ). is this a part I can buy cheaply new (reproduced) , or should I try to find a junkyard and cut the whole rocker out of a donor 60. i would cut beyond the spot welds to get the entire piece. I also thought about trying to shear and break my own, as i have access to a machine/fab shop. any advice appreciated.

Chopp-em off and make sliders

What Kling-On just suggested is on my list as well but because I want to fit sliders. When I trim I will have the metal. If it trims clean I can give them to you for free. I visit NC a few times a year for business and assuming I can get the metal wrapped and on a plane you could get free delivery service.

That would be so cool, if that works out i'd have to give you somethin in return, maybe some spare 60 parts. I only need the pass side to save you some room if you need it. PM me with a date/time/location if and when it works out. got to love fellow cruiser-heads.

I am not going to trim them for lets say, 3 to 6 months. Doing a SOA right now. What's your timetable?

timetable, i dont got no stinkin' timetable. I'm really trying to concentrate my effort on the drivetrain swap right now. Recently bought a 4l60e and hopefully buying a late model wrecked camaro this weekend if it works out. My goal is to get this beast driveable, not too worried about the asthetics, by summer 09' outer banks NC trip, thought i'd start out on the smallest form of rock, sand, before i get to the big ones. so any time would work if its 3, 6, 12, anything divisible by three really. Thanks for the offer i hope it works out. Maybe :princess: & I could take a trip out your neck of the woods and re-pay the favor.

I will keep you in mind when I get close to cutting. I'll do the opposite panel first for practice to make sure you get something salvageable.

kling-on did you cap the hole left after the cut with the slider tubing or did you cap it then put on the sliders.

no cap its a off road only truck it would be easy to do though But really I dont think it needs it theres not a hole just the bottom of the rocker you see in the door
