1/2"? 5/8"? 3/4"? 7/8? 1"?

I bought a 3/4" x 6.5 and then made some nylon bushings for my rear Slee bumper.
Is this for direct bolt in to the tabs?

(edit, read the markings on the shackle the wrong way)

the smallest one that'll fit that's rated for whatever force you need to exert and then some... :)

I'm going to hang these from my CalamariDog recovery brackets.

If Cdog used my original FRB design, which I am sure he did, then you need the 7/8" Bow/D Shackle. The "pin" for a 7/8" Bow/D shackle is 1" diameter. FYI: The smaller Bow/D Shackles are not wide enough to straddle these FRB's...so there is only one Bow/D Shackle size to consider.

Thanks Spress. Question answered.

Wait, I had the ones that had a 1" diameter and they didnt fit properly. I dont have any of my shackles right now as my friend has them for PC but I believe the ones I have now that fit are 3/4 with a 7/8" Pin.

Mac, see this thread, fish2live got the 7/8s with 1" and they didnt fit...same thing I did.

Spress, which one is it?

fish2live,

Unless Cdog changed my original FRB design you need a "3/4" D/Bow Shackle. These have a 7/8" diameter pin...which fits nicely through the 1" hole in the FRB.

D-Ring Shackels: 1", 7/8", 3/4", 5/8", 1/2"

And if you're 100 is really stuck I recommend utilizing two FRBs, one on each frame mount location, and using a rated recovery strap connected to each FRB and then your winch line connection. You want to keep the angle between the FRB/frame leg and the connection at the winch line to 120 degrees or less to help prevent the left and right frame legs from trying to collapse towards each other...

Here's a crude pic...

got mine here D-Ring Shackels: 1", 7/8", 3/4", 5/8", 1/2" and bought the 8.5Ton (7/8" with 1" Pin)
7/8" D-Ring
trans_1x1.gif

Specs
Size Diameter = 7/8 "
Working Load Limit = 8 ½ ton
Pin Diameter = 1"
Width between Eyes = 1 7/16"
trans_1x1.gif

the pin was TOO BIG

get this one and it will fit
3/4" D-Ring
trans_1x1.gif

Specs
Size Diameter = 3/4"
Working Load Limit = 6 1/2 ton
Pin Diameter = 7/8"
Width between Eyes = 1 1/4"

I KEPT mine and bored the FRB holes out a bit and then ground down the pin a bit. They fit now... those little mother :censor:'s

:bang:

Thanks. I already ordered with 4x4 Connection, but will have to change my order now.

The question is, do I paint them OSHA yellow...?

Before you do, check out the Grainger catalog. I found them there years back for the same price but with a higher load capacity(8 ton) and they were already powdercoated yellow...;) Or get them done in electroless nickel. BLING BLING!

Maybe, I'll have to see how they look.

On another note, I want rear nipple rings too.

I wonder if there is interest in another group buy?

i would think in a few months maybe we could get it done. Now that we have the proper sources for everything it should roll smoother then before. I would take two FRBs

You wanna take that lead? :D

Sorry everybody...especially Mac!!! :o

The correct bow/D shackle is the 3/4" with a 7/8" diameter pin as the FRB hole size is 1" diameter.

Originally we designed the FRB for a 7/8" bow/D shackle with a 1" diameter pin for the then FRB 1-1/16" hole size...and then downsized the hole to 1" after we did the stress analysis; And I looked at the wrong drawing Mac!

Mac: I owe you a few beers!
