Are you thinking about dual fuel or propane only. "Dual fuel" mixers (what I call carbs) sits between your carb and the air cleaner "propane only" replaces your carb but still require a base plate and butterfy(s) or throttle body.
30 years ago (God, I'm getting old) I ran a dual fuel system using an Impco system on my FJ40. It might have been on a 350 Holley however which has a larger air cleaner ring than the FJ40 carb. I think I still have the adapter but I'm not sure. When I put the SBC in I moved to a different Propane mixer which basically looked like a large air cleaner on the Holley.
So, if you are looking at dual fuel, find an adapter, probably from IMPCO that has the same diameter as your carb. I think my adapter was angled or offset so the either the propane carb sat more beside the gas carb vs. on top of it or the air cleaner did allowing everything to clear the hood. This may be what he is talking about. If you are looking at Propane only, you could put a Holly manifold adapter on your manifold and run possibly run just the Holly base plate. I don't know if I will have time to look in the next few days but if I do, I'll try to post some pics.
If you are not asking about the "Carb" you may be thinking of the device that changes the liquid propane to vapor by heating with your radiator water. That should be the same for most all vehicles.
The systems are really pretty simple, high pressure hose from the tank to a filter/on-off switch to liquid/vapor converter, to low pressure vapor hose to carb/mixer to baseplate/throttle plate/butterflies.
