What is this thermostat housing?

Something weird happened. Here's the story: I asked Toyota to send me some 16333-61020 thermostat housing through a special order, which is a thermostat housing for oil-cooler equipped cars from '76 to '79. It's a part on its death bed, but that's another story.

What I got is something I've not seen before. I am quite certain they built the wrong part. Does anyone know what this is?

It looks a lot like this piece on eBay, which is stated as for a '58 to '67 Land Cruiser. However, the eBay one does not have a port on the back of the neck like the one I got.

Can you snatch a pic of yours? What year is your truck?

If this is for a pre-'69 vehicle, I can't look up the part number because it's not in the Toyota database.

Does Toyota still make parts for the early trucks or did they accidentally wake this one up from the dead?

The F was used in a variety of different vehicles ... Fa60's to the 100's ... FQ's... Bonnet trucks... 7ton vehicles ... And much more

It was a built-to-order request for a Kali spec part that went all the way to Toyota Japan because Toy USA no longer has the part.

Why is this on it's "death bed"?

It is quite readily available.

But the part picture above is definitely not 16333-61020.

As for 16333-61020, if you plug the part # into ToyotaPartsDeals.com, it says Toyota USA no longer makes it.

16333-61020 is in stock at my depot and I have ordered it a number of times for clients.

Those websites are pretty much useless without actually contacting Toyota. They are static.

That part is from an FJ25. 16333-60020 is the correct part number.

It's odd that I got this part with a 16333-61020 sticker. I guess they missed the "1".

16333-60020 is long discontinued so you basically got something packaged incorrectly. Great find. Worth it's price since that part specifically is long gone.
