I took the running boards off and noticed this thing sticking down. What is it? It does not appear to be mechanical, but maybe internally it is. It is located underneath on the passenger side.

Exhaust Turbo Encabulator. DO NOT REMOVE IT! If you do, your muffler bearings will overheat in less than 2 miles!

Plus you'll lose at least 2MPG:grinpimp:

Seriously, it's vibration damper of some design, I forget what it was for. Search is your friend:meh:

I removed this so my metal tech sliders would fit. I have noticed no difference.

I have one for sale $ 1,000 dollars.......

Concentrated mass - with high iron content for tripping the traffic lights - Toyota engineers did this because of the 100's frame height / ground clearance. You guys who've taken it off and say "Oh, you won't notice a thing..." Start paying attention to how long it takes for the red lights to turn green.

Yeah....no.

It's the only difference between male and female Land Cruisers. Also heard it's an antenna for government tracking devices.

To quote Yukon LX from a previous post:

"What does it taste like?"
