It's time to deal with the carb on my 1984 '60, because I've got high idle, bucking, running rich, and all the other signs of trouble. I've got a rebuilt carb to swap on, but the part circled in the photo has a rotten rubber boot, and I'd like to replace it before I swap carbs (we're looking at the carb. from the driver's side).
I've had little luck figuring it out from the diagrams I have, and the local Toyota people have never seen one of these.
Whatever this part is, it doesn't seem to be critical-- the one currently on the cruiser also has a rotten rubber boot, and since it was dripping fuel onto the exhaust manifold, I had to remove the linkage and seal it off. But this is kind of lame, and it would be nice to fix it for real.
Any pointers about how to deal with this part? Dripping fuel down onto the exhaust manifold is something I'd like to avoid.....
Thanks!
