Two weekends ago I rebuilt the driver side knuckle now this weekend is the passenger side knuckle. Getting it ready to wheel in calico ghost town in a couple weeks.

Being from Minnesota originally, and born and raised to be a Minnesota football fan, has given me a lot of time to pursue other activities this fall, as the VIQUEENS AND GOOFERS SUCK!!!! This weekend, it was time to put my new (to me) jump seats, new seat belts, and new Polk Audio Atriums in the 40. Pics:

This gives me more space back there, and I didn't throw a brick through any TVs! All good!

Installed new aftermarket CCOT window channels and felt strips. No more rattling windows, mine were totally shot. Found out the passenger door has been replaced at some point.

Finally standardized my paint. Had tried using grey paint on glove box, and latches and it looked like garbage.

Found the SS Krylon from Wal-Mart is real close to LC Pewter ( only $4 per can). Did the instrument cluster , ash tray, glove box and all latches. It is a bit “glittery” but not bad for 1/3 the cost.

Finished installing long factory jumpseats. I had to make some brackets to secure that back since I have a roll bar.

OEM Softtop and bows - received and installed (kind of)

I picked up my OEM Bows and Vintage Kayline - Made in Denver "original look" soft top yesterday. I had ben Mudshipped from Portland, Maine to The Gathering in New Hamphsire where it changed hands and was driven down to the Lehigh Valley/Poconos. I picked it up yesterday on the way to the cabin and when I got home today, I put it on my 40.

The top and bows cost me $650.

I have owned 6 FJ40s and have never seen the OEM bows in person - they went on like BUTTER!! - the top was a tight fit.

I am missing a few minor parts but the truck and top look great!

I got a mega deal on the entire setup. Now I just need to gather the final parts.

LOOKING FOR: (If you have them and want to sell, send me a PM with a price)
2 - windshield L brackets (2 holes on windshield - 1 hole on top of door brace)
rear pole u shaped parts to hold it to the tub - 2 on top rail and 2 bottom pieces
20 turnbutton fasteners

Teeth to the wind,
Sno Dawg - Jeff

tomorrow I am going to dismantle the entire top and paint the bows to match the truck

where's the picture Sno Dawg?

You know the rules!

Built a battery tray and drew up a finish checklist

Preparing for hard-top install....first time in 10 years. Today, ripped off old weather stripping on passenger side door. Cleaned door panel upholstery, cleaned and adjusted window regulator. Ready for new weatherstripping. 1 down, 3 to go.:wrench:

Reinstalled the heater systems ( removed 4 years ago when I started the re-build) – believe it or not it does get kind of cold in AZ.

Replaced all the foam internals and found a $20 valve in place of the $100 one.

I could not get the white letters on the control to turn out so I painted it all white then sanded through to the black plastic
