It wasn't as hard as I feared - new JVC mechless head unit install.

Put a couple new scratches and a fresh layer of dust on her, and exercised the new Ironman 4x4 suspension at Wildomar OHV area here in SoCal. Also gave my son a little more off road driving experience.

The new suspension worked well. Wish I could get a little more articulation, but we only barely scraped the hitch one time on this trip in a narrow creek bottom.

First impressions after driving it? Give us the scoop :)
I had a shop install the same headers this past week along with some other work - replaced all hoses fore and aft of the engine, Heater Ts, coolant replacement, timing belt, water pump, bearings etc., and spark plugs. The first impressions are real good. No more ticking of the cold engine, quicker from a stop, faster acceleration through the entire band as well. So far, I am happy with the results. I have yet to burn through a tank of gas to see the mpg results. Hoping for better than 10-12mpgs.

Been quiet on the forums for a while just enjoying the drive. Wife sent me this picture and thought it was a flat:

Towed her home and found this:

These are replacements from Rockauto and I’m cranked on OEM Land Cruiser TBs. While searching for replacement LCAs, I noticed that Ironman 4x4 sold some reinforcement plates. Never knew these were known to sheer off.

I will qualify this by saying I do not have any dyno numbers pre or post to validate any gains, but I am happy after about 100 miles of driving. I would say worth the cost vs oem replacement manifolds if you’re trying to make that decision.
I never experienced a lag accelerating from a stop or at speed and I don’t notice a tremendous difference post install as @unleashd described so I don’t know if it’s worth the money if you’re oems are in good shape.
I do keep regular tabs on mileage so I’ll try to report back in a month and let you know if there is any improvement.
There is a sound difference when you give it some extra throttle 😊
I had replaced my DS manifold with a new oem a few years back due to the crack and resulting cold start tick. I was happy with that result. I happen to have these headers in my garage for about a year and my 11yr old son is starting to get into cars and trucks, so this was a project for us to turn some wrenches and have some fun.

Removed dilapidated faux wood trim and love the results. I just let the car heat up in the sun and patiently went after it with a stiff putty knife. To finish it off I used rubbing alcohol to remove any glue residue.

I honestly like non-wood trim

So do I. I think it looks like a more modern vehicle now.
Well at least you guys didn’t wind up with the slate blue faux marble trim. It looks like a shape fill that Microsoft has been using in PowerPoint since, well, the beginning of PowerPoint 😆. It took me several hours to carefully pry all that off and I even used a hair dryer to heat the adhesive. That project SUCKED. But I’m much happier with the standard gray and black trim that was hiding behind it.

Good Luck with better mpg's...after I installed mine, I can't seem to keep my foot off the skinny pedal...I like the way it feels and sounds too much. Did you just do the headers or the full exhaust?

LOL on the skinny foot comment. I know what you mean 'cos I've been driving that way too.

I did just the headers for now.

I'm on a tear ordering parts. Two CV axles, all 4 tie rod ends, and some AHC fluid for a flush on that system to see if I can make it live another little while before I need to replace all the globes. It goes up and down and shows the minimum # of gradations difference (8-9) on the reservoir, but... we'll see. I'll flush it first and go from there.

Also a replacement switch for the worn drivers door window switch panel, and while I'm in there I'll be lubing that track/ regulator up to see if I can cure the occasional "window doesn't want to roll up" scenario. I think the switch being worn almost out and a little additional drag/resistance from a 22yo window regulator leads to the switch going "oh window must be up already" and then stopping. Usually not a huge problem, but a real drag when it's pouring down rain and you just drove through taco bell or whatever.

Man that wheel well is clean and love the factory tire carrier! Do you have sub tank on your VX.R and is this a 5-speed manual?
Has Sub tank , center cold box, rear AC with no heat. The large air cleaner and cloth seats. Not sure if those things or anything else is different.

O yea, it has regular vacuum brake booster and no antilock brakes.
