Also left the tricky custom part to myself and trimmed and fitted some silicone coasters to the cup holder. #hellacustom

Can't believe how much timing belt has gone up. Last time at Toyota it was 800+. This time it was $1300! 💸😮. At least the last belt went 120k miles.

I just called Lexus for a quote on my ‘05 LX. They’re all the way across town and very inconvenient considering it’s not a sit and wait job. They quoted $1250.

Called the Toyota dealership (same dealer/owner as Lexus). They’re a couple miles away and would be super easy to drop off one evening and pick up the next afternoon. $850. Dropping it off next week.

SPC Upper Control Arms. George runs valley hybrid in stockton. I see you’re in San Jose? He’s pretty much the go to shop for us landcruiser folk up here in NorCal. Just happenstance I live in stockton too so that’s one less mechanic I have to worry about. Hes on the forums also just don’t know his handle.

Yes I'm relieved too, to have his expertise locally!

Power steering flush and refill. Used REDLINE D4 ATF (DEXRON II or III per FSM) fully synthetic. Didn't have any issues with it prior to this, but fluid and reservoir looked pretty nasty. Removed reservoir and deep cleaned it. Got 90% of the residue out. Followed the process in the video below. Very simple job.

Do you think it would be smart to wrap the whole trim or just the center portion?

How difficult was it to wrap?
Not very difficult. I've never done it before and it turned out well enough.

As I was covering the center strip, I had the same thought. I'm not sure if you could get it to stick down in the grooves or not without tearing it. I'm not experienced with it, so I couldn't say for sure.
