Installed KC Gravity G4 fog lights. Way better than the OEM (yellow) ones. Still need to wire up my Rigid 30" LED Lightbar.

Mocked up a mounting system for my recovery boards and jack base. Who needs expensive name brand mounts at +$70?
Standard carriage bolts with washers worked great! I will probably add wing nuts to make removal easier. But these are pretty solid.

Details:
2 Each: 5/16" x 2 1/2" Carriage Bold Grade 8 with washer and 5/16"-18 Wing Nuts, Zinc, Course for the Jack Base.
2 Each: 1/2" -13 x 3" Hex Cap Screw Grade 8, with 1/2" flat washer and 1/2" - 13 Wing Nuts, Zinc, Course for the Recovery Board.

2 Each: 9/16" - 12 x 3" Hex Cap Screws, Grade 8 with 9/16" x 1/2" washer for the fire extinguisher mount (still 'fabricating').

I couldn't find 1/2" or 9/16"carriage bolts, but these work. Will replace later. Solid as a rock!
Purchased at Tacoma Screw (love the name) for $11.

Mark, It's a good thing you've got a photo. Once you mount them, they will never look like this again. All they need now is some MOAB pin striping! ;)

Got more Moab/wheeling season prep done today... got a full 5+ hours to work on it.

  • Added a new fire extinguisher mount, the plastic one broke after 5 years.
  • Added a new marine fire extinguisher.
  • Hard mounted my HAM head unit, the velcro mounting system failed long ago.
  • Installed a Nite-Ize magnetic ball mount the "Steelie" for the HAM mic.
  • Created a panel for my compressor mount and switch... I am excited about this one.
  • Rerouted wires for the fridge to eliminate my CNC cable track that failed miserably.
  • Got my water tank, lines, pump and switch up and running for 16 gallons of on tap water for the desert. It's way too much but I won't have to ration.
  • Got new bedding for the RTT and some sheet corner keeper things.
Still to go...
  • Replace my heater "T"s on the heater hoses.
  • Diagnose a weak 2nd battery.
  • Fix and reattach my sway bar end links. Broke a rear, lost a bushing on one of the front end links.
  • Weld in some control arm skid plates.
  • Change all fluids in the diffs, xfer case, engine and trans.
  • New plugs.

Started the day thinking new front wheel bearings was all I had on the list. Ended up installing new rotors and pads too. Those pesky hub cone washers were a pain. I had to round up parts and tools from all over for this job. Cruiser Outfitters, Ressler, two Napas, Murdoch’s, Sportsman’s Warehouse, and Evko and Dangbird too!

I don't know how you went about getting the cone washers out but if you run nut to be almost flush with end of stud, take a brass hammer or drift, place on end of stud, take 5 lb hammer, whack brass hammer or drift.... Cone washer stands no chance. They should come out in one or two good hits. Using a brass hammer is nice because if you swing and miss you wont hit your hand.

Installed my rear tailgate storage for my 80 from Hurracan Fab in AU. A must mod and pretty easy install!
I installed the same one in my 80 a few weeks back. Totally agree with your assessment!
Careful what you put in there, my tailgate has gotten heavy 😉

Mounted the fire extinguisher to the bed. Used existing screw for the cubby trim for the left side of the mount and drilled a whole and used a plusnut for the right side of the mount. Plusnuts for the win!
Now onto wiring my lights and finishing the rear seat delete.

that's the only way to do it that won't drive you insane. harbor freight used to have brass hammers for cheap, haven't been in there for a while

Come on out! We’d love to have you even without a cruiser!

Was that your black 80?

Knuckle job! It wouldn't be right if something didn't go wrong. I only planned to rebuild everything and reuse the wheel bearings.

No dice.

Last time home finished a ton of PM on this. Dropped it off at Sailors today for a front bumper.

Then went to Helena to pick up this. Has most of the bits to make the runner a 5spd. I like the limited 99-00 4runners. 4.30 gears. Rear locker. But all auto. So need to buy other rigs to make them 5spds. At least that’s how I justify it.
