What Gas Grade does your 80 drink?

87 Chevron in all my vehicles. I will use Mobil or Shell 87 if I can't find a Chevron.

I try to stick with the same brand for a consistent blend.

Chevron/Texaco, usually 87, sometimes i throw premium in for good measure.

agree.

From my experience my 80 detonates off idle pretty badly when I use mapco or any other cheap brand gas.

"Drink" sounds so civil. Mine obnoxiously guzzles 87 from a premium brand gas station (Chevron, Shell, 76, etc) with decent turnover (i.e. high volume gas stations). I won't go to off brand or podunk gas stations, a habit I learned from driving a more sensitive diesel.

My Cruiser runs only diesel :flipoff2:

But...I used to use Mohawk ethanol blended 94 octane in my Eagle Talon turbo. It was the highest octane available in Winnipeg. Most stations had 91 max, but this was the same price. It ran really well and the added mileage made up for the price delta over regular. I was also running 20 psi with a 16g turbo, so anything under 91 octane would ping. When I went Rustang hunting, I used to dump a bottle of 108 octane boost in the tank.

Interesting how many different premium grades around the U.S..

Material that came with the SC, said to run 92 octane, but I could only find 90 around town.

I have heard that one of the contributors to high fuel prices, is that states all have different emissions and fuel regulations. So refineries aree built for discrete markets, so higher production costs, and somewhat closed markets limit real competition.

wonder what would happen to fuel prices in the U.S. if standards were aligned along a few different grades?

85 octane sinclair
It's the only gas in town that is ethanol free

I usually wait until my empty light comes on before I fill her up. There for I go with 87 with no issues to complain about. I try to go the cheapest route possible because I fill up usually 2-3 times week.
Now days, Holiday Gas Stations are changing the looks of their gas pumps, and I accidentally pumped 92 once. I didn't noticed any change though. Although it felt better, but we all know it was probably in my head.

I run 87 but try to only run 100% gas since the cruiser is a second car and gets driven mostly on weekends.
