Probably a dumb question and I searched but didn’t find my exact answer, but if I do not know what brake fluid for the clutch went into my ‘64 last, should I use Dot 3 or 4 brake fluid? I was going to use a baster to pull out the fluid in the reservoir.

Is the bolt that is above the metal line the bleeder in the 2nd pic so I can gravity bleed? How much should come out and be refilled?

I believe DOT 3 is specified in the FSM for ours, and yes on the top bleeder for gravity bleed...After removing all of the old fluid with the baster, I would recommend a good cleaning of the reservoir before refilling. Then continue to bleed until continuous clean fluid drains out. ;)

Thanks for the info. I thought that might be correct, but wanted to confirm!

But.. you can use Dot-4 in a Dot-3 spec system.
In fact - In the factory drum brakes its probably a safer bet because of the higher boiling point
Thanks. Disc fronts and drum rears.
