I need some help sorting out some details

I have a 79 2f in my 71 and i am moving the alt to the rh side and I found out I need a 2f shroud

while I am at it I need to put the 2f water pump back on it to replace the 1f I temp installed so I can hook up the oil cooler.

Must I use the fan with the fan clutch or is there a fan and pulley that will bolt on

some of the fans and shrouds say with or w/o AC?

MAF has a 8 blade aussie fan afmkt for no clutch but what pulley will it fit on?

thanks

I have a 2F in my '72 40 with a fan clutch driven fan from a FJ60

it's apparently the shiznit - one of our most senior club members immediately got himself the same fan after seeing my set-up (not my doing, some genius PO)

I do not have a shroud, though, since neither a 40 nor a 60 shroud would fit and I have been too lazy yet to make a custom shroud :meh:

no shroud

I'd like to keep running a shroud w/o having to manufacture one but it is something to keep in mind.

I'd prefer to go without a clutch for now but not sure how to go about it

depends on the waterpump. there are clutch fan water pumps and non clutch fan water pumps, for both oil cooler and non oil cooler applications. some are available new from toyota, others not.

If you want to go without clutch, but with oil cooler, you need:
waterpump for 2F with oil cooler and without fan clutch-try CA model with oilcooler(1/'75-8/'76).
2F water pump pulley without fan clutch
and a 2F fan for non fan clutch. 1/'75-8/'76 will be the easiest find 6 blade. FJ55's with A/C had 8 blade fans. not sure on OD, so beware if trying to fit in an F fan shroud.
2F fan shroud. An F motor shroud should work with the fan mentioned above.

fan

Thanks Danimal but I found one on line, appreciate it though.

I found a clutch and fan together from a 76 and got the 2 pulley deal from CCOT and a oil cooler water pump

so now waiting to see if it all fits together

buying seperate pieces saved me some $ but CCOT does have a clutch fan and water pump all in one for $200

now to sort out the alternator!

Hi All:

Why not just modify the "F" engine fan shroud to work with the 2F alternator location? That is what I did on my '74 FJ40 with a '78 2F.

Regards,

Alan

modifying shroud 2f swap

Yes, it came to me later I could just cut out a semi-circle for the pulley.

I wound up finding a 76 fan and clutch assy together and bought a 2 place pulley for it so I am waiting for it to arrive
